I have always felt very odd eating at a restaurant alone but I do see people doing it occasionally. I feel like everyone is watching me. Is it just me? What do you guys think??

I would have to say that eating out alone can feel odd, but I wouldn't say that everyone is watching or staring at you. But if you do feel uncomfortable or funny, invite friends, make it fun...take a hot date, just bring someone along with you. If you are alone though, sit at the bar instead of a table because you'll most likely be around more people in the same circumstance as you. Just remember everyone as ate by themselves before.

I am the type of person that doesn't go out of his way to make new friends. I am not shy, but I am reserved. I only have 2 very close friends. Therefore I do not mind eating out alone. I bet you are outgoing and have a lot of friends. If this is in fact the case, naturally you should be prone to such feelings!

I always feel a little odd eating out alone, so I bring a book or newspaper or homework...something to do so I don't feel awkward.

To me eating out alone is natural and not uncomfortable. What is odd to me is going to the movies alone. That is very uncomfortable to me.

I've gotten used to it. I usually bring a book. If I have to eat alone, I'd rather eat something tasty at a restaurant than scrape up something at home.

I don't mind eating alone especially if its a place I really want to go eat at. Otherwise I get it to go and eat the food at home.

I don't feel odd. Especially if I have something to read while I eat.

I hate to eat alone. I have gone so far as to just not go out. It makes me feel very self-concious.
