smartalec - Sometimes skeptics compare the faith of the Bible to faith in silly things. That is foolish because Bible faith is reasonable.

rita alba ma - No, I mean silly things have few if any good reasons(historical facts, acheological finds, fullfilled phrophacies,ect...) for faith in those silly things, like santa, the easter bunny, flying spaghetti monster ect... .

adam t - You know very well that you can take the opposite side of the debate, and argue it intelligently. Thats because faith is reasonable. Why don't you? Why be on the side of the debate that is against faith? Both sides are reasonable. Why not choose faith then?

curious_inquisitor,
Yes. What they are asking you to believe are harder to believe than the thing we believe in.

Like what? What silly things require more faith than believing in the Bible? Personally, I think that it takes a gigantic amount of faith to believe some of the outlandish things that are in that book.

Everything requires faith. Faith in God for your care, Faith in
the people you deal with, Even though you have to be careful
with people. Faith that God will lead you right. Yield to Him.
Yes even in silly things. When you do silly things, you want to
'come away clean' that is where God comes in to help you to
do so. You must remember to ask, so God will know you want
Him with you at all times. God needs to know where you want
His help at/with.

I sure agree with you. Because faith, by definition, is the substance of things not seen, the evidence of things hoped for. And we just cannot do without faith in our daily lives. If you take a flight you do not always think of the possiblity that it would crash but take it anyway.
My biggest experience with faith is that it has proved to me to be emperical in several situations and therefore it makes much more sense to me to believe in the scriptures than other things.

YES, IT IS INTERESTING!
Reason helps to UNDERSTAND!
What did you mean by silly things? The Holy Bible (which is also known as Holy Scripture) says that when you seek wisdom, you will find it!

Yes, and what is really sad is that more people have flushed the Bible than any other book-let alone the koran on the following site:

More than just interesting, I believe holy scripture is basically true - what it means at times escapes me. That is a problem with me - not the book.

If you have eyes to see and ears to hear, it is reasonable.
If not then it is not reasonable.
There have been preachers that have studied the Bible for 40 years and have not seen it.
It was a job.
When you asked questions that were beyond them they became extremely defensive.
Some saying I have a doctorate in theology, how dare you question me.
I've been at this for 40 years. DUH.
