Have to use your intuition how does he seem and are you getting good vibes from him. At some point if you like what you hear you should meet him and if you do follow a few simple rules it should be good.
meet him in a very public place and don't agree to go somewhere else that isn't public.
tell a friend and have that friend call you at a predetermined time so you have an out if it isn't working
get a thingy of pepper spay in case he gets weird and you have to mace him.
don't give out your personal info till you get a chance to know him or you might have some real grief
the Internet is a great way to meet people, I have met a few and it has always being good. I insist on meeting a girl in a very public place so she can feel at ease and that makes it so much easier to get to know her.

Wifey, if your screen name is an indication that you are "married", lets for arguements sake ask this question :" my husband is chatting/flirting with a girl/woman on the net and do I want him to act on his erotic fantasies?" If you are NOT married, have you been living in a cave for the last year? Almost daily, the news agencies are reporting people being deceived by another on tthe "MySpace" web site!! Unless you have a (kidnap/rape) scenario that needs to be fulfilled, I'd suggest meeting people in a community setting, i.e. church,mall,movie/book club, or any activity that you enjoy.

If you do, bring someone with you, because there have been multiple cases of people deceiving others on Myspace and other Social Sites. For all we know he might be a great guy, but don't push your luck by going alone :)

jowolf is right ,, but then again some people cant get action any other way i know a guy that couldnt get action in a womens prison wih one hand full of cartons of cigs and the other a fistful of paroles;;plus your screen name is wifey if your married cant condone such an act that might lead to infidelity
