i have slight scoliosis, and i've had whiplash kind of accidnets before from landing hard. i had one from stepping off a ladder in a wrong way, that was in 2003. then recently i had a similar thing 4 weeks ago while breaking big tree branches. Sometimes just lifting heavy things gives me some weird pain in the spine..i'm 26 now, what should i do...should i stop lifting heavy things. or is it good to continue lifting so that the spine will get stronger? by heavy things i mean like.. trash cans full of brush from garderning. lifting heavy backpack leaf blowers, Lifting lawn mowers off the ground. Since i have knee problems too, these days i have had to use my neck more and so i get more pains..and injuries.

To Wicked Micky, my family is mexican.. my father is a gardener and we live together..But my father wants me to not be a sissy taht's why i try to help him, but then i get more damaged

You need to see a medical professional. Pushing through the pain to avoid being called a sissy by your father is only going to make things worse. You need some rehabilitation before you can start strengthening your spine, in my opinion and I'm not a doctor.
I suggest seeing a chiropractor or bodyworker. If you see a bodyworker, I reccommend someone who does structural integration work (Hellerwork or Rolfing). Hellerwork has helped me more than anything else I have done.
I understand it can be a cultural thing as well. A good Mexican friend of mine travelled to Mexico to see a tribal shaman type of healer. It helped him some but he still has problems.
Maybe your father has endured various pains over his lifetime and just beared with it (as maybe his father did)? You don't have to do the same thing. You have a choice.

I reccomend Oxycotin. Oxycotin and beer is especially good. Remember to chew your oxycotin and wash it down with the beer.
It sounds like all your issues are related to yard work. WHy not hire some Mexicans? They do excellent work, for an excellent price. ...and you can skip the Oxycotin, and just have the beer.
Just say this to any Mexican, and he'll hook you up.
"Oye, mojado. Me falta alguien para trabajar en mi cesped y jardin. Si tienes primo o cunado que puede manejarlo, no creo que tengo que llamar migracion."
If I were you, I'd stay off ladders, out of tree and in the office where you belong. ...or at least learn to lift!

1st and foremost, go see a doctor, a specialist. There is no way anyone on here can make a genuinely accurate diagnosis or be 100% confident in recommendting exercises or treatments for you without your seeing a doctor first. Chiropractors can do a lot for you, but don't hesitate to try more "alternative" therapies as well, such as acupuncture, massage therapy, or even refloxology. As weird as it sounds, there have also been several studies done that prove that yoga is very effective for treating & preventing back pain. I know several people who were severely restricted with their movements and were in constant pain; after a couple months of yoga 2x per week, one of them is back to racing on a regular basis.

Hurry go se a doctor u could have pinch nerve or worst dont let the pain get worst if u decide not to go to the doctor try relaxing and less work and take pain killers to ease the pain and try to resist from bendng over in certain positions the pain could worsten and swelling could occur and your back could...give out on you

Have you contacted your doctor? Do not continue lifting because it will make your muscles on your back stronger, but not the spine itself. If your job includes a lot of lifting, I suggest finding a new career. Good luck!

To help releive the pain UNTIL you can see a Dr,try ice packs on your back. Please only leave it on for no more than 15-20 mins. Heat helps some but again only for a few mins at a time but several times a day. See a Dr ASAP.

Wish I could help you there are different things each person can do to help prevent the aches and pains... I have to persons in my family that have it and they both have to do different things to keep them from hurting. One had to have the surgery because her back was curved 70% and the other is doing different things to keep it from hurting. I do wish I could suggest something to you but I don't know what would work best for you!!!!

See an Orthopedic doctor....I injured my spine before and have had trouble ever since....I had herniated discs and now suffer lumbar strains frequently....I worked for the Postal Service and was injured while there....I am twice your age and am now on disability...Don't take chances with your back...seek professional help......Good luck
