Keep your mouth clean and get some clove oil. Put the oil on the tooth that hurts. You'll be surprised at the relief you get.

Five days is ridiculous if you told them you're in pain. I would call and tell them you need to get in sooner, and ask them to work you in on an emergency basis. Or find a dentist who will. Look in the phone book, many dentists advertise same-day emergency visits. They likely won't be able to deal with the problem completely, but can do procedures & prescribe meds to help the pain. In the meantime, warm salt water rinses are good. I have major dental problems and this is what my dentist recommends between visits. You can also try over-the-counter toothache remedies, which are mostly based on clove oil or "-caine" drugs. These won't do much if you have an abcess or severe decay, though. Blessed be... I feel you 'cos nothing is worse than a really bad toothache.

It wouldn't hurt to call your dentist and tell them how much pain you're in. My dentist has an emergency stand-by list that you can be put on--that way if someone cancels an appointment, they will call someone who is in a lot of pain first. Here are some tips: drink cold or hot liquids through a straw, avoid foods that are hard to chew, use ora-gel and Ibuprofen. Good luck. I know how bad toothaches can be!

Go to the co lest Drug Store, and buy a Toothache kit. It contains Clove Oil, and a few Q-Tips. Put the Clove Oil on the Tooth, but be careful not swallow the Oil. In about two minutes, the pain will be gone. You used to be able to buy Clove Oil, by itself, and alot cheaper, but you cant anymore. THIS DOES WORK!!
