she wants to be a dental hygientist. she hasn't even taken her ACT test yet. what can she do to help her get the highest score on this. she will have 4 chances to take this test. we are hoping for a scholarship. she has A's and a few B's. what about other scholarship programs? where do we look for them. is it to late to apply for them? i am new at this and don't have a clue. what steps do i as her mother need to take? is there such a thing as a guaranteed scholarship? we really don't want to have to apply for student loans. if there is any way for her to get scholarships then we prefer taking that route. does anybody know what i need to do?

First, talk to her school's counselor. They are in charge of informing students of scholarships. You can also search on the internet for scholarships that fit her particular background. Does she play sports? Is she a member of clubs? Also, she could get a scholarship based on her grades and GPA. Second, apply for financial aid at FAFSA.gov. I know you don't want loans, but they have Pell Grants that you don't have to pay back. If you aren't eligible for a Pell Grant, they will offer loans. You do not have to accept them. I hope this helps.

A really good school for a dental hygientist is actually in Utah at Weber State University. WIth her grades she can get a scholarship and the great thing about this school 100% of people that apply get in and you don't need ACT or SAT scores. If you go to www.weber.edu I and contact the proper people I bet she can get a scholarship. plus school is cheaper then most places.

www.fastweb.com is a very good scholarship site.
There are classes around that are helpful towards the ACT exams. There are also alot of books she could read for ACT prep that might help.
It is never too late to do anything that might help her through this time. At least you're trying!

Good luck
