Copy DVD home movie to an AVI file for Free?

Does anyone know where I can download a free software to do this?

Use DVDFab Decrypter to remove any protections and rip the DVD vob files to a folder...

Convert to AVI using StaxRip.

Both excellent freeware programs. Just search for 'em on Yahoo.

or try to search directly dvd to Avi and check the freeware option

Check download.com and look for "dvd to avi". Should be a couple options.
