My mother gets bad headaches everyday, does that mean something? I'm really worried about her and she says it has nothing to do with her job as a paralegal. She doesn't drink or anything, I don't know what it could be. She's 43 years old.

She only had migraine headaches when she was working as a waitress for 13 years. And that was just rare. She more or less thought they were stress headaches.

She also drinks a lot of tea, she's not a coffee or soda drinker. She exercises a lot.

High blood pressure can cause daily headaches. This is also prime allergy season if you are allergic to mold, dust, or ragweed pollen. They could be sinus headaches. People that have never suffered from allergis can develop them at a later age. Of course a doctor would be the best choice. If she doesn't want to go - have her try an over the counter antihistamine/decongestant like Claritin D. If that helps - it is probably allergies or sinus problems. She really should have her blood pressure checked. If she is waking up with the headaches first thing in the morning - it could be related to that. It they were migraines - she wouldn't be getting them on a daily basis and they would be much more severe than you describe.

Has she spoken to a professional? Could be chronic headaches. Could be a lot of things.... The best advice she'll get will come from a doctor. And if she doesn't want to speak to one, you can. Call a doctors office/health department/hospital and ask to speak with a nurse or doctor and explain whats going on and ask if she needs to come in and see a doctor or if they can just give you some things to try over the phone.

Could be migraines. Or, could be the stress of her job, even though she says it isn't. It could also be brought on by the birth control pill (that is common), or other hormonal changes, as she is entering the beginning of the phase of her life that she will soon experience the symptoms of change-of-life. She really should go to the doctor for a complete physical, but SHE has to do it. Don't nag her, as that will only make her determined NOT to go. There is only so much you can do.

EXACTLY this same thing used to happen to me! I had weeks of constant and continuous migraines where I could not function any more. After I went to the doctor about it, he found out I that had undiagnosed, severe high blood pressure. After I took high blood pressure medicine, the headaches went away and stayed away--just like magic!

Could be a lot of things. Could be stress related, health related. Best if you could convince your mom to go and see her family doctor and tell him about these headaches and he will investigate further through testing etc. Tell your mom how concerned you are and that you'd feel better if she got checked out by doctor. If necessary tell her also that you would go with her to doctor for support if she would appreciate that. Good luck to you.

my opinion there is something going on. It may be as simple as stress from her job. But over time stress takes a toll on your body. She needs to take the headaches as sign that her body is telling her to make some changes in her life NOW.

I also get migraines and I have my chiropractor adjust my neck. It works for a while, but I also take imitrex for them as well.
You may also want to check what meds she is on because some of them can cause very bad headaches. That's why I get mine.

What are her other symptoms? It's hard to tell if anything serious is oging on just by "headache" ifthat's all there is to it, I'm sure she will be fine. It could possibly be stress, or possibly migranes. Is her vision being impared? (fuzzy, seeing dots, seeing "hair-like" whisps in front of her eyes?) These symptoms, and many others, may indicate something more serious.

Very often, headaches come from straining the eyes, has she had her eyesight checked? Especially if she squints at a computer or paperwork. Look at her eyes when she trys to read w/out letting her know you're watchiing. Wish her the best!
