Do you accept the WHOLE Bible as inspired of God? (1 Timothy 3:15, 16)

Have you done your own research into what you believe, and know the scriptures that prove what you believe or do you just know what you are taught and believe that?

IF so, when someone quotes a scripture to back up what they are saying, are you familiar with that scripture?

Do you look up that scripture up to see for yourself if that is what it really says, or if the reasoning is accurate?

Do you profess to know everything about the Bible?

If your belief is based on an ambiguous scripture (meaning that it can be interpreted different ways) and a scripture is quoted that makes a simple and to the point statement that points to a different understanding (without any interpreting involved), do you......

1) Look up the scripture in your own Bible to see if it is in harmony with what was quoted or referenced?
2) Do you meditate on what was said there?
3) Are you willing to adjust when you see the need?
4) Do you read that scripture with a prejudiced view or a view to learn?

To Garce: What does that have to do with my question?
My question had to do with how in depth Christians are in their beliefs and Bible study.
IF you are not a Christian - the question was NOT for you

Do I believe that my or "our" way is the right way? NO! I'm not perfect neither are "we".

God's way is the right way, and yes, I believe that the Bible holds "The Truth", and we can discover it if we search in the Scriptures as Jesus recommended.

I have done and still do my own research, and usually I'm familiar with the Scriptures quoted. And NO, I don't know "everything" about the Bible.

But I learned in my own life that following THE LAW, especially the two "first and foremost commandments (love God above ALL "things", and love your neighbours, even if they don't "agree" with you!) as pointed out by Jesus, brings good and positive results. Whereas pointing fingers and criticizing the "others" does NOT!

Compassion AND forgiveness is taught by other "religions" as well. So why not try it? The world could be a much more peaceful place.

Good questions Grammy. You should get some intelligent responses. Here's mine (question the intelligence, LOL)

Yes, I believe the WHOLE Bible is the inspired Word of God. I believe it is profitable for correction, education, etc.

Yes, I have studied the Bible in the KJV format as well as some of the original Greek & Hebrew. Haven't quite gotten a hold on the Aramaic though.

Usually, I try to stick with the "Romans Road" approach in evangelism - simple to remember & easily understood.

Yes, I try to keep track of all the usual responses (for racism, praying for the dead, men being the head of women, etc.). Sometimes I get caught off guard by a really obscure POV with an even more obscure Scripture .

Yes, whenever there's a question, I head straight for God's counsel.

No. No. No. I won't until I get to ask the Author Himself, face-to-face.

Yes Yes Yes and Yes

Except I will never know anything more or less about the Bible then God allows.

Our understanding comes from the Spirit of God.

We also check it against Secular History to validate the hundreds of fulfilled prophecies.

If someone did not do this. They would have no ground to be able to share their faith outside of their own testimony.
God bless ya!

I wouldn't say I know everything about the Bible, but I think I have a good understanding of what's said and why. As a result, I think I have a decent understanding of who God is and how He thinks and works, and so I can understand why He did various things in the Bible.

I am very serious.
Yes I have.
Yes I am. Chapter and verse.
Yes I do. I also bring it to their attention that what they are saying is not correct, this includes pastors during a service.
They love me/// I think you know that it really isn't love.
If you say it in public, be prepared to be corrected in public.
Not quite, there is no one that does. Not living that is.
What I have received, I believe.
I go along growing each day, as everyone else--we are all growing.
It's like one giant garden.
