it freeze the nerve that supply the pahrynx. You get a sudden dilatation of the cerebral blood vessels and the headache. Try paracetamol ice cream!

It's called a brainfreeze and causes the vessels to constrict....the reason for the pounding headache that last only momentarily

It's called brainfreeze. If you eat too much too fast when it's cold you get a headache. It happens to be all the time...especially with icy slurpies.

yes, my kids call it brainfreeze.. its your kidneys objecting. they're processinig this, and its freezing cold, two or three mouthfuls and it begins to complain... try eating smaller amounts over longer periods...
