You can interchange margarine for butter in apple pie. Most recipes will tell you so. Butter in my opinion gives the pie a better taste then margarine.

The difference between butter and margarine, is margarine is usually made from corn oil, butter is the by product of cream, taken from cows milk.

All of these questions regarding cooking and baking are making me hungry. Butter is comes from churned cream, from a cow. Margarine is another substance all together, and is usually white, until they add a yellow food color. You can use margarine to substitue for butter. Use imperial, whc is best. I however, 'am like Martha stewart. I prefer butter, salted or unsalted, depending on the recipe. I believe real butter is best for pie crust. Check Marthastewart.com. or food network, and seek Alton Brown and his pie crust recipe for apple pie. It is fabulous.

Oil is positioned by way of a technique stated as hydrogenation. which skill one greater hydrogen atom is being extra to the oil. Plastic is made the comparable way. Stopped eating margarine decrease back in college while my sciences instructor went over the chemistry. Butter comes from cows, goats, sheep. that's organic frequently. till the farmer plenty up the animals with hormones and antibiotics, butter is frequently safer. that's all i take advantage of for each little thing. Shortening is the comparable, oil hydrogenated.

Most recipes call for butter or margarine, and either one is just fine. I don't believe butter makes that much difference, because you don't use that much.

No, margarine is oiler/greasier than butter. So margarine will help your pie from sticking to the pan.
