It seems to me that my incidences of colds have dropped considerably when I started to scrape my tongue. In fact, when I do get a cold, I scrape much more often which lessen the severity of my colds. Has anyone else notice this? If so, there might be more of a benefit to cleaning the tongue other than just a cleaner mouth.

Oral health CAN make an impact on overall health. Many cases of heart disease are linked to periodontal disease. I too have noticed less colds and severity of colds from scraping. I don't see much clinical support though, so for now I'll just keep scraping.

A cold is a virus. Your body builds immunity to them. Once you have a cold your body will no longer catch that particular virus. As you age, you become immune to most of the strains. It's really an immunity issues rather than a hygiene issue.

No I just floss and brush and I don't hardly ever get colds and if I do I get over it quickly by taking extra vitamin C and Echineacea.
