I paid $375. and he paid $375 and he took it up to our landlord. so i thought. The old bugger(of 3 yrs) left in feb,to my surprize and the landlord gave me 60 days to leave saying he didnt get any money from either of us. I had 4 horses, and my house cat, and all my belongings to move . But i couldnt find a place for my horses in time , and I had to move to the YWCA, put my cat in a shelter, leave my horses behind and belongings under a tarp and the new tenant (his hired hand) he moved in as i was leaving. She was more that happy to look after things while i kept looking. Thats when a month and half after, he sold my horses and all my tack. I owed him no money. He said he "just hated horses"

Hello, Sorry to hear of this one... hindsight is 20/20 so i'll not go there... you said that "he" sold your things, is that the landlord?

if so you may have some recourse... there is an organization called _ tennants org in most city's ie Cleveland Tennants Org. you can go online and find them and ask them for the one in your area... good luck.

if he was the new tennant... then take them to claims court... a hourse is/can be of considerable value even the emotional cost... try that..

finally consider the landlord did do you a favor with sixty days to move... verse 30 which is standard.

I think you are being truthful. So, let me be forthright: You set yourself up by not getting receipts, etc. Never make any kind of legal or financial transaction without getting it in writing. If you have any evidence that proves any of the above you can sue the individuals in small claims court. It's dirt cheap to file and there are no scumbag - or honest - lawyers allowed in court.

Thsi is a complicated issue I would advise you seek legal advice and you have a law suit here as well. My advice you sue three people
1. Your old roomate
2. The Landlord
3. New Tenant

One or more of these suits should be a winner

You can try suing him for it, but the chances are he hasnt got anything to take, so there is not much you can do about that...
