All the belts now have pretty much no meaning, but if I were given the opportunity to fight for a World Championship, I would have to go for the belt that is hand painted over 18kt gold plating. The one Ferocious Fernando Vargas called "The Mexican Belt" that would be the WBC Championship belt. All the belts out there are nice to look at WBO, IBF, WBA, EBU and all the other ones out there but i recently spoke with the man who actually makes the WBC belt, he's a avid boxing fan and he loves making the belts, each flag on the belt is hand painted and it takes him over a month to finish each one. So in my opinion it would be the WBC. Thanks for a great question Baz.

the ring title because you don't have to kiss anybody's *** or pay money to the crooked sanctioning bodies.don king pretty much owns and controls the wbc through that idiot jose suliman.the ibf ratings are for sale to the highest bidder.the wba pisses me off with their "super champion" garbage.and the wbo has the most ordinary and pathetic "champions" see scott harrison as an example.plus you do not get stripped of a title unless you retire.you only lose the title by being beaten not by refusing to fight some bum who does not deserve a title shot or for not re-signing with a certain promoter.

First of all, the WBO is not a recognised title. If you recognise it, then you have to also recognise that both Francesco Damiani and Tommy Morrison were at one time the heavyweight champion of the world.
Of the three legit titles, it doesn't really matter. Boxing has become so watered down with the smorgasbord of titles and weight divisions, that the public is the entity that figures out who the 'real', consensus champ is.

Assuming I was fighting to become the legit champion and not just to pad my stats and/or bank account, they'd all be meaningless to me individually. Of course unifying the belts would be a worthy goal, but I'd prefer to fight the best competition and prove that I really was "The Man". The unofficial RING magazine belt would mean more to me than any of the "alphabet soup" championships...

None of the above. The Ring magazine's recognition of champions over time has been of the champion to champion sort. To be the man, you have to beat the man ahead of you. Why give three percent of your purse times four belts to be a champion when The Ring means so much to boxing and has for a long time?
