Why has God not performed any new miracles.
Surely if God produced a few now and then, he might convince the likes of me that he exists?

The likes of me-are people that do not accept that what is written is always the truth.

Miracles happen all the time. You need to have a relationship with God in order to see them. Not necessarily with a church... Try it if you don't believe me. Do one thing only because you think it's what God may be asking you to do. "Seek and you shall find." It's a guarantee.

Are you blind and deaf? Look around! There are miracles every day. Watch the news on T.V. you will hear and see the miracles. Take the latest and largest hurricane tragedy in New Orleans' history that is being broadcast to this day. It's a miracle that so many survived such a disaster. That's only one example of today's miracles. What about the lone survivor in the mine collapse in Kentucky? What spared him? A miracle my friend! I am a survivor of premature birth. This may not sound like a miracle today, but in 1944 it was! The hospital where I was born didn't have an incubator until the day before I was born. The incubator was not special ordered because it was a known fact I was to be born early. My birth was a total surprise to all. This I call a miracle. My son was born with the cord wrapped around his neck not once but twice. He survived and grew up to be a very intelligent man teaching high school. This is another miracle in my behalf and his too! I have a close friend whose daughter's son is the recipient of God's loving miracles. He was only a couple months old when a strange woman came to their door. She was a visiting nurse form an organization the mother had not signed up with, because her baby was healthy and sent home healthy. Or, so it seemed. She allowed the nurse to examine her baby. His oxygen level was severely low. The baby was rushed to the E.R. and air-vaced to the nearest larger city and hospital. They found the babies heart was turned BACKWARD!! Four years later this baby is in perfect health and smart as a whip. If it hadn't been for that nurse who came out of no where this baby would not be with us today! Thanks to God's miracle he is! Open your eyes and see what is around you. Liston close to the news and to others that has a miracle to tell. Just because you don't hear trumpets blasting from the sky or hear a loud booming voice from the heavens. Does not mean what you see right in front of you is not a miracle. You have to be open minded and have an open heart. And most of all faith.

Miracles are preformed every day, whether we know it or not.

When a teenager says no to drugs, yes to an education, that's a miracle.

When a premature baby is born and lives to led a normal life with no health problems, that's a miracle.

When a family of four survives a what should have been deadly car accident that's a miracle.

When a child who has been missing for years and shows up alive to be reunited with their family, that's a miracle.

Someone being at the right place at the right time, that's a miracle.

Miracles are all around us, some are big, some are small, and some are so small that we may not even realize that, that is a miracle.

We can't keep looking to the sky's for miracles, because the miracles are already around us.

The people of Jesus time didn't believe the miracles of raising the dead (3 times if I recall), giving sight to the blind, restoring health / curing illness.

There are a lot of things credited to science alone, such as organ transplant... talk to the person that received that "new heart" or "new liver" - ask them how they feel, just science or a bit of miracle worked in.
Talk to a new parent, even an older one, is the baby/child just the science of sexual reproduction or a bit of miracle worked in.

Just an observation...
When, people I've known, are open in how they define a miracle - be it with science as a partner or as a surprise unexplainable event - they see them every day.
When, people I've known, are closed in how they define a miracle it is no surprise when they say "I'm not convinced"

I do not pretend to know your stance but your question suggests you may have a more closed view / definition of miracle.
I hope you are able to expand it some - take care

Let me tell you that God does still perform miracles today. I know this man who went to a hospital to find a girl he saw in a dream that had leukemia. Sure enough he found her in the hospital in his dream (in a town 70 miles away) in the room number in his dream. He told several people about his dream beforehand, including my husband. A group of about 6 people travelled to this hospital to pray for this girl. She had leukemia and had all the lab tests to prove it. She was about to start chemotherapy when the group arrived. They prayed for the child before any medical intervention began. Then the parents asked for yet another round of tests. Lo and behold!!! She has no leukemia! Now the doctors say that the first 3 rounds of tests were wrong. (Which were done by 2 different hospitals and 3 different specialists) Now if they really believe that the first 3 rounds of tests were that unreliable, then why were they about to expose this 5 year old girl (in less than 2 hours) to powerful chemotherapy drugs which would have weakened her immune system, made her hair fall out, and made her violently ill for days on end? We all believe it's a miracle. This happened over a year ago and she's been retested several times since then and still no cancer!!!

I think what your looking for is a miracle on some grand scale..I really dont know if you will ever see that. but for me I have had a few miracles happen to me, I'm a believer. Maybe its not so much as a "miracle" but a sourge of strength or courage or wisdom that you dont know you even possess that lets you make your own miracles. I think there is a saying that goes something like this: God helps those who help themselves.

This is the Church Age. The miracle is that for the first time ever we have God's Word available free to all. No one cares though. Miracles did not keep Israel from rejecting God's plan, and the miracle of His Word still does not motivate us to grow in grace. So what is the difference? If you are positive toward God then miracle or not, you will find a way to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

each time a baby is born that is a miracle, each time they learn something new, when they take their first step, when they say their first word, when they fall down and get up laughing again, each time they give you a hug or say i love you, those are miracles that happen everyday;
and if you think that the people in new orleans didn't think that the food being dropped from helicopters was a miracle, or when they got clean and dry clothes from people all over the country that they didn't thank God for that little miracle then you have my pity.

The birth of a child is a Miracle and small ones happen all the time. People being saved from Cancer, He's still at work, we just worry about the bad things all the time. Look around you and see for yourself and be cheered up

You have to ask God to open your eyes and show you all the miracles happening all around us. What ever questions you have ask God he’s all knowing. Not only that but he answers prayer he answered mine. He doesn’t let just any one see his miracles he wants us to make the choice to see them on our own and by asking him. If every one saw miracles and believed in God then people would start to take God for granite because that would be too easy. Think about it people do that all the time they did it in Jesus’ time and they saw miracles right before their eyes. I hope you do ask God and I will pray that you do. God Bless you!!!

God is not performing miracles in the age of grace. We walk by faith today and not by seeing signs and miracles. Salvation is based on what we believe not on seeing miracles. The Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins believe and trust in that and you will not be looking for miracles. 1 Corinthians 15: 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1 Corinthians 15: 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
