psychologists like freud, ford, beach regarded it as an abnormal behaviour. ford and beach have shown that in all lower species, except apes, monkeyys and other primates, homosexuality is a transient condition caused by the segregation of the sexes. in the primates, homosexuality can be learned and continued even in situations in which there are ample sex partners of the opposite sex. freud attributed paranoia especially delusions of persecution to conflict arising out of repressed homo sexual impulses.ford and beach have shown that all mammals inherit the basic patteerns of both male and female sexual behavior. if the hormonal balance is normal for their sex and if they are in an adequate normal environment, they will nearly always exhibit the behavior patter correct for their sex. if the sexes are segregated, they will indulge in homosexual attempts to mate with others of their own sex.as soon as the two sexes are reunited, all homosexual activity ceases, except for isolated cases among the primates.as the primate with the greatest learning ability, man is able to learn and persit in not only homosexuality but also all sorts of other sexual deviations and peerversions. ford and beach, then view homosexual behaviour as accidentally accuired through unfortnate child hood experiences or through seduction by a homosexual adult.freud interpreted homosexuality in terms of castration complex and an inadequate sollution of the oedipus complex and electra complex.instead of solving the complexes by identifying with his father and wanting to become a complete man, and at the same time sublimating his desire for his mother, the boy identifies with his mother and sees his father as an object of sexual attraction. this is an inversion of the oedipus complex. freud also noted cases in which the boy identified with the father, but feared castration and impotence. he saw himself as weak and his father as strong and in later life sought after strong men in an effort to gain from their strength through homosexual activity. in case of lesbians, it is a matter of regression to infancy in that all baby girls have the mother as a sedx object as do little boys. the problem of therapy in homosexuality is one of great diffuclty. homosexuals feel that they have a good and pleasurable sex adjustment and simply want other people to accept them.only prevention in childhood is the answer to the problem. prevention would be more easily obtained if society were less cruel and vindictive to the adult homosexual, provided that he scrupulously guard against seducing minors.though modern psychologists are treating this as normal behaviour, i feel it is against nature. if two homosexuals marry, it is ok other wise, to satiate their sexual urges, they become violent and often find innocent children vulnerable and the children who were seduced by adult homos become in their latter life as homos.

In the late 80s and early 90s the APA ( American Psychological Association) was under extreme political pressure to drop homosexuality the DSm ( Diagnostic Statical Manual). They did so but that did not make it right. Homosexuality is a psycho-sexual dysfunction no more or less serious than many fetishes. It is NOT a mental illness

Homosexuallity was removed from the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) roughly 25 years ago. Current thought states that if a person is attracted to same sex individuals, or both sexes, that this is not a disorder. Unless a patient wishes to undergo therapy to change his or her sexual orientation, and therapist is not allowed to attempt this conversion. To answer your question, it is not currently thought of as a sexual perversion.

Wow, what is this world coming to when homosexuality is considered OK...i think it should be considered a perversion. I'm actually convinced that it's a genetic disorder (not unlike retardation). It just won't be vocalized as such due to social acceptance

No it's not normal. Right now it's a toss up between being a sexual perversion or a disease.

It's considered perfectly normal behaviour in women - provided that there is a man there to watch. I volunteer to be the observer to any pair that cannot find a third.

The level of ignorance on this topic demonstrates the failure of education in the U.S. It also makes me think this section has been taken over by a herd of teen-age fundamentalists. This section is for Q&A about "health", not religious categories.

Have you tried the mythology section?
