Put one patch on the areas the directions tell you. Leave it on for a week then replace with another patch, do this for three weeks, then on the fourth week you don't wear the patch and you should get your period.

Sorry I'm not really sure how to use the patch but hopefully you'll find this information helpful.

FDA Launches Ortho Evra Patch Probe

March 2, 2006—The FDA announced that it is launching a safety review of Ortho Evra birth control patches, following evidence that the patch is associated with increased side effects. The agency previously warned women in November 2005 that Ortho Evra was linked with higher incidences of blood clots.

The review is part of a larger probe to assess the safety of various patches. The agency is concerned that defects in the patches may lead to increased absorption rates, causing too much medication to be delivered to the patient. Evidence indicates women using the patch are exposed to approximately 60 percent more estrogen than those women using traditional birth control pills.

After you go 1 week without the patch, which is when you should get your period, you start the cycle over again with a new box of patches.

Yes, that is how the patch is used. I don't recommend this product, however. The side effects are terrible. You will gain weight and may experience depression and libido loss. All of these things happened to me. A man who loves you will be willing to use barrier methods, instead; at the very least, avoid the patch. If you must use hormones, use a low dose pill.

after your ummm "girly week off" is done.. thing is the patch moves around and stuff and can cause skin irritation so maybe move it around 1 week one arm, 1 week the other arm etc.
though in all honesty this one is a question your obgyn should have explained to you before prescribing it. they should have explained how it works, when to not wear it, when to wear it, and the side effects. the fact they didnt really explain it well concerns me.

Put the patch right over your opening and leave it there. Otherwise I wouldn't trust it.
