Not exactly true..... Certain schools of Wicca, Paganism and New Ageists, work towards Peace and Love. Buddhism's main practice is to diminish Anger, Hatred and Ignorance ( or any o fthe harmful aspects of ourselves ) and live in a state of Non-Violence. Taoism preaches harmony with all humanity. I think in this day and age NO ONE is able to fulfill that idealistic state, BUT the true beauty of these faiths and schools of thought, is that they put in a whole lot of effort to get nearer to that state of perfection. The more powerful the establishment that holds control over the secular running of ANY faith, the higher the chances of corruption and thereby, distorting the true paths.
To re-discover our true nature of Peace and Love is not dependent on what others as a nation or community do... it is truly about what WE would do to start the energy of Love and Light moving. Are we more Peaceful in Nature day by day? Are we more Loving to strangers and ESPECIALLY to our parents and family members? If everyone or majority thinks let others start the ball rolling... peace ain't gonna be happening any time soon lol
It starts with the individual before the seeds can grow and sprout branches of all embracing love and peace. The individual eventually grows into a Community, A community into a nation, a nation into a continent and from a continent into all of humanity... it has got to start with we ourselves first being Peaceful and Loving.

Actually we are just barely into the age of Aquarius. Each sign rules for 2000 years approx. Isn't it ironic that we just left the age of Pisces - the sign of the fish?!? Everytime I see a little fish on a car I'm reminded that the time of the fish is ending. However, it doesn't happen instantly. Upheaval is always a part of change. Things always get worse before they get better. Groups always get the nastiest when they are dying. Death throes. I'm simply excited to be here now and try to do my part to make the world a better place because I was here. Yes, I too long for peace, but peace comes at a price.

It's gone too far in the opposite direction to ever go back to those idyllic days. Because there was a lot of violence back then, as well.
What, with the marches-the assassination of the Kennedy brothers and Martin Luther King plus the Vietnam war,it was not all peace and love. I was also involved in the efforts to change the government and many times the police did not see it as a "peace" march as they cracked our heads and dragged us off to jail. No my dear lady I certainly don't miss the peace and love 60's.

Some of us never stopped, but we were abandoned by all who sold out their principles for money.
I often wonder whether I am nothing more than a message in a bottle drifting in the sea waiting for someone to find the message and read it. I've seen several generations that showed no interest in peace and love. I'm wondering how many more are to come.

yes not long to wait. approx. 7 - 8 years from now.
When the sea level rises it will be the age of aquarium.
sorry I ment aquari u.s.
by the way in the 60's people watched shows like : leave it to beaver, gilligans island, my 3 sons, petticoat junction, national velvet, mr ed, the brady bunch etc, all very holesum family watching. the closest tv in the 60's got to violence was
get smart, F troop, rin tin tin, superman, batman, and dont forget columo, starsky and hutch, there was not much violence to be seen, so people where comfetable and not living in fear.
Now these last 15 years TV has been very violent and sexualised and racist. and look at what we watch now. 50%crime, and murder (NYPD, Miami vice, cold case, etc etc
35% sex and drugs shows and 15% Hospital shows (sick people). and the reason why Gays have *** out of the closet is because the Gays influenced the media, tv, music, fashion, etc.
and it has been down using sitcom shows like sienfeld, etc.
I bet you there is not one sitcom show in america that doesnt have Gay /Lesbians. 20 years ago they were ****** and now there on every sitcom and also on lifestyle shows.
So the main reason society has sunk so low is because all the information that has been bombarding u.s. is makeing everyone live in fear. fears of all kinds, being kill, robbed, raped, divorced, being poor, being unemployed, on drugs, or with aids or watching your body rot from crack.
thank God I am not a child living in these days.
The teenagers have been effected so much that they form gangs so they can protect each other from the violence of the streets.
The rap music, the drugs, the playstations and their broken familys are all effected by what people see and hear on TV and other media.
The question I ask is who are the main players and drivers behind the TV and media companies that have encourage and even gloryfied sex and violence in the media.
It is the hinden agender of ( I'll give you one guess) to spread fear , confusion and suffering in this world. Have a look at the media and tell me who is the majority. and to think it only took them from the mid 70's till now to make the people in this world hate eat other.
So I think people will soon wake up and see that we have all been brainwash and conditioned by the media and TV.
I'm not saying the media is all bad. its a bit like superman, he can save you or he can kill you.
Lucky most humans can understand right from wrong but there are alot who are completly stuffed. its very scary for old people and children to walk on the street these days. all these sick evil people are cowards for picking on the young and frail.
shame on them and shame on the men who feed all this violence to these sick evil people.
Look what the tv and media have done to encourage the wars and terrorist we have now. The terrorist mainly exist because tv and media make their job of spreading fear very very easy.
Maybe this war is not about religion but mainly to ban tv and media. from the world.
Just like the john carpenter movie THEY LIVE.
anyway got to go. my shows about to start.

war, pestilence, poverty, violence, gangs, etc, are part of the human condition. they've existed as long as humans have, and we can't wish them away. the 60's were overly idealistic, ignoring problems instead of dealing with them. I think we should always strive to live in love and peice, but the 60s are not a good roll model to look to.

There isn't going to be much peace until people give up believing in fairy tales like religion. Till then, it will be an unending battle between the deluded and the insane.

come on now, don't kid yourself. you know the answer to this one. the "age of aquarius", in my opinion, was a one-time deal. have you heard of such an era before the 60's? in all of recorded history was there another such time of hope, of love, of togetherness? in america anyway the answer is: no.
i, too, sometimes dream of the return of this kind of vibe. but i'm afraid we were simply born too late to hope to see this again. today's age seems to be the age of ME. the age of more, more, more. the age of how big is your car? your house? mine's bigger!everywhere i look i see people anchored to their cell-phones, like they are attached to umbilical cords or something. no one seems to want to be an individual anymore. they feel this abhorant need to be attached to someone else 24/7.
therein lies the crux of the problem, for i believe that if we are unwilling to think as individuals than we will be unable to think as a group. that is unless the goal we wish to achieve is one which is selfish, thoughtless, and unoriginal. like those of mobs.
the good news, as i see it, is that you and i, and anyone else who wishes to, CAN still be an individual. we can share our ideals with those around us -- those who will listen -- good luck there, and we can continue to reflect on the LOVE that is by-gone, and we can pray for the possibility of its return. sorry to be so gloomy (overall), but as i opened my answer, i've a feeling you knew the answer before you posed the question.

Jesus, the Prince of Peace will come back one day when the Contract with Mankind is up, and Lock-Up all of the Devils (satan and his Angels).
Then there will be PEACE on the EARTH for 1000 Years.
That is the Only Way PEACE will Last on the EARTH.
