I have a dalmatian mix named Pudgy and a pure bred chihuahua named Ruffy, and they are both yard dogs. I told everyone thier names so i would only have to spell Ruffy's breed once..lol. Anyways, they are forever chewing everything in my yard up. Plants, toys, rags, garden tools, even my Chuck-It ball throwing stick. I am so sick of cleaning up the shredded remains of my daughter's toys and clothes (if she leaves them out there), and I need help. Someone? Please? LOL.

I dont think that your dogs are agressive just hyper active... IF so you need to be in control of the situation by showing that you are "the leaders" DOgs usually feel how their leader feel and maybe they dont look at you as a leader.. First you need to be more secure that you want them to change..... Dont call them by their name.. and when you call them the leadership on your voice has to come out certain.. You need to give them a little touch on the side and go SSHHH>> its hard to explain but i saw it on the dog wisperer you should watch it.

This is natural , until the dog gets older. Your best bet is to give your dogs a chew bone, or go into the meat department of a grocers and ask for a bone..they throw away bones all the time.
Just Clap your hands and say...NO NO when they chew what they are not suppose to chew and give them a toy or bone in its place. They are naturally cutting teeth.Dont get discourage, this will fade as they get older.

Trade the dogs in for a pair of trained guard goldfish. They will keep strangers out of your yard, and you can flush them down the toilet after they chew through the fence and get hit by a car.

try kenneling them and using run of the yard as a treat... This works! My mom used to have a lab and a heeler that together chewed down 4 10ft trees... talk about expensive toys!

Try giving them rawhide bones and tough rope toys..maybe nylabones if they like them. If they are not bord and have something to do, or chew..They won't destroy things they are not supposed to. Also make sure they are getting enough exercise, as in, playtime with you. Not just hanging out in the yard..

Sprinkle some black pepper wherever you don't want the dogs to go. That should do the trick.
