It's probably true. Think about this for a minute, you have the power to create an entire world, make it self sufficient, populate it with all manner of sentient life, grant that life free will, that's pretty damned impressive. If you could do all that, why would you need the life forms to worship you?
The one true God could actually be amongst us now, selling the Big Issue and living in a bedsit in Clapham, answering to the name of Neil and wondering why everyone tells him to get a job when he has one already.
In the words of QOTSA - no one knows

That is a very pertinent question, because we all could be fooling ourselves. However, I can tell you, and I think you would agree that that is very highly unlikely. First, if this god is an almighty creator of everything including humans, would not that God want all humans to come under its power in order to be worshipped, much like the God of the Bible and Allah, perhaps. Now if this all powerful small tribal god was the all powerful creator, why did that god over thousands and thounsands of years NOT manage to spread from that small tribe into the rest of the world with its message. If that god couldn't get out of the tribe, then I would have to question if it is powerful at all, and on judgement day most of humanity would be innocent because that god didn't even make an effort to contact the rest of the humans of the world.

Now on the other hand we have Jesus and we have Allah as examples of major Gods in major religions, both of which are making great strides to attract followers and it seems to be working because both have at least a billion souls under their umbrella. So I don't think we have to worry about some unknown god being the true God because only a powerful God can influence global affairs like Jesus and Allah has, not some weak tribal God that no one ever heard of.

The Great God, Oomah Goomah, has watched over Her tribe since time immemorial. All the other Gods retired when their tribes died out, but Oomah Goomah has provided for Her tribe well, and today is Judgment Day.

Six billion people are thrown into the Great God's soup bowl and are consumed. The twenty members of the tribe who were faithful get to share in the soup. Oomah Goomah is so happy, She gives the planet over to her tribe, calls them the Chosen People, gives them 10 commandmen...wait, that's another story.

Never mind ;-)

Well it would be a liitle late to do anything about it don't you think.
Each of us has to make our choice of what is the right faith for us and believe that it is true. No one man can say who is right and who is wrong.
Only the one true God knows.
Each person has the right to believe the way they want and should not be told they are wrong, because we as human don't know the right answer
Only the one true God knows.

Then he would be a very poor communicator, and not likely the one true God.

Hmmm, Christians, Jews, and Muslims all believe that the God of Abraham is the one true God.

How you conceptualize God is part of how you gage your actions/beliefs etc. Whatever we as humans think God is, it is only an infinitesimal piece of the "puzzle". I'm confident that all the "popular faiths" and as well as the tribal/nature faiths etc. fit into the bigger picture of God. . . so, we're all okay after all.

Well, if that god aforementioned was only worshipped in the forest, he must not be very righteous to not spread the Word of his saving.

You are right in your assumption of one true God.
To answer your question, that's why God has given us the Bible. It contains information that cannot have come from the human mind - it contains thousands of (otfen extremely precise) prophechies, many of which have come true already, and many of which are still to come true.
The Bible contains evidence of supernatural authorship.

God has gone to great lengths to make Himself known, for example through his Creation, so everyone is without excuse.
And he sent his Son who demonstrated through his miracles and teaching that he came from the one true God.

Wouldn't that be the cruelest joke of all time! There are a lot of folks that think all organized religion is a hoax, but I am not cynical enough yet. But just think about how many lives would be simplified and enriched by that viewpoint. "Imagine!"

Most Christians do not follow Christ's teachings anyway,so they ARE wrong. The true God is indeed YHWH(YAHWEH),His son,Jesus, came to show us how to get close to Him,but people are only interested in trying to "fit in" Christ's teachings around other things in their lives, whereas Christ's teachings DEMAND a complete "blitzing" of the ungodly things in our lives! If anyone does not live this way, they do not know God(Christian or otherwise).
