It depends on if you are a minor or an adult. If you're a minor, try to get involved in school activities and get an after-school job. Basically, spend as little time at home as possible, but by filling the time away with productive things, not "hanging out." FINISH SCHOOL and go to college. This is your ticket out of a destructive situation.Most kids don't realize that if their family income is low, they can go for almost free. Ask your counselor about filling out the FAFSA to find out where you stand.
If you're an adult with a difficult child, seek professional help and set boundaries. Yes, these are their growing up years, but these are your years, too. Don't allow the child to consume all of your time and energy. If you are married, take extra special care of that relationship. You both need each other!

Connect to your inner world. Be it spirituality, fantasy or art.

Get some ear plugs.

Good luck, it's very hard not to have a safe haven.

dizzogurl (2 answers below) has a point, make sure you deal with your feelings and you make yourself busy. But you still need to cultivate your inner life. Being spiritual does NOT mean being a religious fanatic. They are two very different things.

Try to resolve the family dispute. Because no family is perfect. There is no point in running away from the problems. The faster you resolve the problems, you will see the peace comes in search of you.

Find a place of your own to go to when things get too out of whack. It could be a library, a park, a friend's house, the zoo...You don't have to stay in a crazy house 24/7.

this is why people to drugs or become religon freaks... no worries if your just trying to get away then only be home for dinner and sleep spend the hole day wondering around outside or something. if your looking to resolve the upset, seek conciling

first stop thinking about anything and give yourself some time..
just u and nobody else..then talk to yourself try finding a solution and if your mind is still disturbed then pray and leave the rest to GOD..
