If I follow the teachings of Jesus ONLY will I go to Heaven?

Say if I follow Jesus' teachings my whole life,say I disregard the rest of the Bible----will I get into Heaven when I shuffle off this mortal coil?

Jesus is the Word of God. To follow His teachings is not disregarding the rest of the Bible.

Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament. He is the culmination of all the promises in the Old Testament. However, there are many thing in the Old Testament which are valuable to the Christian. Imagine if everyone not only followed Jesus' teachings, but lived by the Proverbs! When someone is going through something bad, how much comfort people receive from the Psalms! And Jesus is the son of David. If you don't know who David is, you're missing out on who Jesus is.

And there are many unbelievers who like what Jesus taught as it relates to working with others, but have missed or disregarded the essential facts. Things like: You must be born again. I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me. Go and make disciples of all nations, baptize them. And many others.

It boils down to one thing: Either you have faith and believe not only that He did these things, but that He is Who He said He is, and did what He set out to do. Then, you get to heaven. But just following rules He gave is not going to help.

No you will not get to Heaven, to get there you must believe with all your heart that Jesus is the Savior and take him into your life and repent of the things that you have done and MEAN it and follow him every day, and DON`T disregard the Bible at all, read God`s word every day and spend time in pray and find a good church to go to then you will go to Heaven

Yes, but you need to be truly convicted of your sins and genuinely seek repentance and give your life to Jesus. If you are just doing it to get to Heaven, then it doesn't count as your repentance is not genuine. The Bible as a whole is preferable to just following Jesus' teachings however. Jesus said he was the ONLY way to the Father (God) and to Eternal Life.

Why bother about the words of a heretic and blasphemer. Read what you probably call the Old Testament (as if there really was a new one). The issue is to believe in God and God alone - "Thou shalt have no other Gods before Me". In the Pentateuch, God also remarks that no word of the Bible (OT) can ever be changed and nothing ever added so the xtians are in clear breach of Gods direct instruction. Ther therefore, as promised, will have no part in the World to Come. All you need to study is the Pentateuch, although the Prophets and the Writings are worthwhile too.
Oh yes, also ignore the false teachings of Mohommed the murderer. He too disobeyed by compiling the fiction known as the koran. This too is a corruption and addition to the Bible.
Note that both xtians and mohommedans insist that God allowed them to update the bible - so God must have got it wrong before - Right! None of these corrupters will have a part in the world to come - although the final decision must belong to God.

Not unless you have a relationship with Him. What we need is a saviour because nobody can follow the teachings without Him.

You cannot skim out what is written in red letters and ignore the rest, since He wrote the Book and claims that it all speaks of Him. The attempt to select what you will accept is a sign of rebellion.

Often what He said 2,000 years ago expands or makes clear what He said or caused to be written of Himself thousands of years before. What He says via the apostles also amplifies what He taught.

The real need is to die out to yourself so that the life of Christ may be lived in you and through you. If Christ lives in you, you follow the man and the teachings take care of themselves; for you cannot be contrary to any of His Word.

The truth is that most Christians, without the spirit of Christ, live a life very contrary to Matthew 5 even when attempting sincerely. I speak from experience.

Only if Heaven turns out to be Christian, if the Muslims are right you'll be screwed, same for if the Buddists/Seikhs/Hindus/Disciples of Neil in Clapham turn out to be correct. You must know for sure that your sins have been forgiven, cleansed and removed by the blood Jesus Christ shed for you at Calvary. If you are not 100% sure of that, then you are not yet headed for heaven. Read 1 John 5:9-15 in The Holy Bible to learn that you can know for sure whether or not you have eternal life and are truly saved.

for you to thing that way is already a big step into heaven but is enough i am afraid!! let me ask you a question how much you think heaven is worth? if you desire something in this life you need to work very hard to get especially if what you desire worth lot therefore if you really want to go to heaven you need to work to get it and you need to make a research on religions and whats right and whats wrong!! If it really matters for you, to go to heaven, Please also know that one have to follow the teachings of Muhammad, the Masinger of Allah after Jesus, to go to heaven and to be completely saved from hell. All the masingers were sent by Allah for guiding the people in their respective times. I beleave in all of them, and respect and honer them.
In this life for example if our government amends some rules or makes new laws we have to follow newest version. Along with we respect the government, and we appreciate that they are working to make new and more comprehensive laws for us, and we follow these newest laws.
Any way this discussion is a long discussion. We should research our selves, as we do a very good research before any thing, and pray also that we are guided to some path that can take us to the heaven.

Yes!!! that is all, that is exactly well put?, although you have a question. which I may not be the most verse individual to answer but, there is a program label that the opposition to intelligent design and God creation, has been using, for some-time now, to continue making things difficult for every one to become in touch with the true. and in this specifics with God the Lord only true. do you believed that finally and in your own mind you realize that there is one only Holly Father that with a true concern to make and acomplish, each and all of his Only Son desires real to become? Why?, because The father knows that Jesus its pure, and pure perfection?, and though we didn't understand that and there are some that which to deny The Lord, the Son and The Holly family, you have the answer!!!, I have the answer, because The Lord want only what his Son wants, perfection!! and not the Son but the Father will achieve it, for HIM(God), because he gave to the Son everything, and he will continue giving to the Son, everything, because the Son its perfect.?
