Name the worst argument you've ever heard someone say defending their beliefs. I'm Atheist so my worst will be bashing a Christian argument. Don't take any of this to heart. A dumb argument is a dumb argument regardless of what a person believes. Hopefully we can get a good laugh out of some of these.
The Bible is 100% flawless. It says so in the Bible.

Oh by the way. I won't rate the best answer just because it's Atheistic. I'll judge strictly on the best of the worst.

Either you have obsessive compulsive disorder or I really pissed you off. I think you really need to chill out and look again at the context of my question.

I said that I've HEARD this argument from people before and not only that. I've heard it from a lot of people. Regardless of whether it is written in the Bible isn't the point, but is more accurate to point out how more people believe in something they've never really read.
If you want my perspective on this though. I've heard other people say that the Bible is the word of God also. So maybe the people who are saying it's flawless are getting thier wires crossed.

A politician actually said....
English should be the official language of the United States, since it is the language that the Bible is written in.
That is just wrong is soooo many ways.

Okay,.... someone might think that this is uncalled for but someone has to take the other side of the argument.
Basically,... instead of bashing organized religion, just look at what that system is trying to do. The ideal of that system is that everyone should be nice to everyone else and we will all grow together to become better people. The only problem is in the imlpementation since the people under and governing the system are imperfect, hence making the system imperfect.
This is like this incident that happened in the TATA company. Apparently, JRD Tata wanted to build this factory, but there was some law that banned it for watever reason. But his lawyers were like, "Dont worry, we'll find a loophole for you, go ahead with your factory." And JRD's like, "If the Spirit of that law says we shouldn't do it,.... we must respect that."
And thats just all i'm trying to say. I mean,.... sure the church might be flawed in many ways,... but does that mean that the ideals that it stands for are flawed as well? Are you trying to say that we shouldn't be nice to ppl and stuff?? I mean,...if u have a problem with organized religion, then just go your own way and be a nice person anyway!! Dont become an atheist just cuz u wanna boink your cousin and the church says you cant or something (not sure if the church disallows marrying your cousin, but u get the point)
Yea,... thats about it. Peace out.
P.S. That bit about the bible being flawless because it says its flawless in the bible is damn funny!!!
P.P.S Just wanted to agree Papeversomniferum who has written something three or four entries above this.

The worst argument I have ever heard was written by an atheist who showed just as much if not more intolerance and ignorance as the christians he was fighting against.
And... he used Newton as his platform. Newton was a scientist, an atheist and a ALCHEMIST. Actually trying to turn base metal into gold KNOWING it is impossible unless through the means of some ancient magic that no one has ever been able to decipher or figure out.
It is the usual spheel on here. One person, arguing with another on something that is and always will be personal and opinion based, each trying to make the other "come to their senses" and believe the others sense of reality.
Everyone of any intelligence knows. Reality is. Quite relative and completely subject to the indivisuals outlook, opinion. Media, product shopping and advertising prove it every day. The mob rules, but it isin't always right...

I don't like the "god had to exist because something can't come from nothing, and everything had to come from somewhere". Well, if so, where did god come from? They say he is eternal. Well if something can be eternal, then everything does not need a creator, and the universe could be eternal (not that I am saying it is). They then tell me I don't understand, when the fact is they don't understand basic logic. The arguments that when looked at go against themselves are bad when people keep trying to use them.

"you can prove Muhammad is the last prophet by reading the Koran"
You don't believe in God, but when it comes to bash Muslims you won't. Christians and Muslims in some ways believe in same way, yet you bash the Christians and never touch the Muslims, are you afraid of them, and what they might do to you.
this one is a gem!!

I do not have to justify my belief, otherwise I might insist that you should prove yours. So you wish to bash the Christian argument - carry on. It neither hurts me, insults me, or harms me. You say a dumb argument is such regardless of what a person believes - that also goes for non-belief. Laugh until your sides split - again your mirth does not effect me. I believe, I am happy in that belief and will continue to believe. I do not have to 'believe' in all the Bible says, it does not effect my Christian beliefs and it does not make me any the less person. Carry on as long as you like in your mocking, it does not effect me one little bit, you see - I believe and am happy to do so - no matter how stupid it may seem or appear to you.
I have tried not to be insulting in any way - and would hope that in future, you try, a little a least, not to be insulting to Christians....
take care of yourself and good luck...................

The worst argument , or answer to defend a position is "because I said so." So, who are you? Everyone, even the little children deserve at least an attempt at reasoning and logical explanantion.
