No way. First of all the child will be uncomfortable in school and not feeling well. that isn't fair.
Second of all, he/she could have a virus and would then be spreading it around school.
Any child with an active diarrheal illness needs to stay home until it has resolved.

Every school has rules pertaining to things of this nature. Ask your school nurse about the rules for your child's school.

Usually, If a child's dirrehea is more than just once or twice during the day, then they suggest keeping them home. My son, however has bouts of dirrehea due to a medication he has to take, BUT I have had to pick him up from school a few times because it's been more than once or twice in the school day.

No, I would not. Diarrhea is usually a sign that something is wrong and there is the chance of making the other kids sick. Also, there is no need whatsoever to send a child to school where they will be miserable and uncomfortable. You know how you feel when you have diarrhea?? It's worse for a kid. I have seen my son suffer and it's awful. Sometimes he doesn't even make it to the bathroom in time. Imagine how he would feel if that happened at school-- embarrassment on top of being sick on the stomach. Not good.

Would you go to work? Diarrhea is a sign that something is wrong. The child may have a virus and spread it to everyone else. Also, the child will be very uncomfortable and spend much of the day in the bathroom. Also, the child may have an accident and feel very embarrassed. Many schools will send the child home to recuperate.

No, I wouldn't. Most schools have rules against sending your kids to school with diarrhea. It could be caused by something viral or bacterial and your child could spread it to other kids. The BRAT diet is good for kids with diarrhea. Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast. Keep the diet bland and avoid dairy products until the diarrhea clears up. If the diarrhea lasts more than a couple days, call your child's doctor.

Would you go to work if you had diarrhea? I think not. Apart from being uncomfortable (you know how those cramps can hurt), the risk of an accident (how embarrassing for a child), and the risk of contamination to other children- how would you feel about having to go somewhere when you aren't feeling well? I would not send my child to school if they were having a bout of diarrhea. I would take time off from work and stay home with them. I would hope other parents would return the courtesy.

Take that pink medicine for diarrhea. I think it is called pepsomesmo or pepcid. Ask the pharmacist.
I would not send the boy/girl to school, until the diarrhea stopped.
After taking the medication with the parmacist's knowledge that the child should be okay within 3 hours.

No, I would not send them to school because not only would it be embarrasing for them to have to keep leaving class it is totally stupid to expose other kids to something that may be contagious...this is how most sicknesses in school start. Give them Children's Immodium and wait to see how they feel the next day. If a high fever take them to the doctor or ER...High fever in kids can be deadly sometimes (Especially in older kids and adults)

i wouldnt send them to school, it could be a bug you dont want spreading to their classmates, and what if they had an accident, kids can be cruel, think of the nicknames they would be called. as for treating, there are lots of over the counter products, check with the pediatrician to see if they have a recommendation, and if it doesnt work take them to the doctor. make sure your giving them plenty of fluids, including pedilyte or gatoraid too

NO! It's a sign that there's something wrong. A child can dehydarate quickly if not watched. There's no way to prevent others from picking up the microbes from it. If there are other symptoms check web md.
