One wine is chokecherry at 2 weeks and the other is rhubarb and is less than a week. There is a skim of mold on the surface. Any ideas. Joyce

These batches are in 5 gallon pails not in bottles.

Since these two batches are so young, I would toss them both out and start over. Are you sure it's mold?

Are you bottling it to age it?

Usually bottled wines can develop a mold if air gets into the bottle before the wine has a chance to ferment.

Maybe it's the yeast.. maybe you quickened a step that normally you would have taken a bit more time with. did you sterilize properly..
I usually make dandelion wine..

I think you should buy a bottle of good wine and don't bother.

check ur air lock if not there is a tablet that will sterilize it i think its called a camdon
