I'm lactose intollerant and fat intollerant, and trying to gain weight. It's nearly impossible. I drink a TON of fat free soymilk...and I was wondering, do they make fat free soy cheese and fat free soy yogurt? I haven't seen it before. Does anyone else have any other ideas for me to boost my calorie intake? I need 2500 a day according to the doctors! this is impossible!

chicken/turkey. its really really difficult to maintain a healthy weight without some meat protein. Also eggs are really good for you, and organic peanut butter. If you're a vegan or vegetarian, you're probably not going to gain weight.

First two things about soy.Soy protein is inferior to most other protein rich foods.Soy protein is an incomplete protein meaning that it does not contain all of the ten essential amino acids. Many people start to use soy products only to later find out they're allergic to it.If this is not the case with you don't bother buying the fat free soy milk because the fats that are in soy are healthy when consumed in moderation and fat is more than twice as calorically dense than the other macronutrients. You may want to instead use whey protein powders like Designer Whey.As far as foods go:white or brown rice, oatmeal, pasta, fresh fruits and vegetables as well as lean meats eating 6-8 small portions a day.Your doctor should have provided you with this information so shame on him/her.

Are you fat intolerant to ALL fats? The fats in nuts?

Some suggestions: Breads, like Ezekiel bread, calebrese bread and things like chip peas spreads, baked corn chips & potato chips and rice, eat tons of steamed brown rice. There are cakes without any butter in them - and you can substitute apple sauce for liquid fats in a lot of recipes. There are egg substitutes out there too so that you can make things like pancakes and cakes as stuff like that. And yes, they make soya yogourt and cheese and soya cream cheese and a lot of products made with rice as well.

I know that it is a different way of eating and different than most, but there are many ways to get your calories.

Alot of the whey proteins are filtered so fine they are 100% lactose free. Isopure is an example of this. Whey is a milk protein and has the highest BV of all protiens.
