he is upto date on all his shots and everything. Well this morning I look in his crate and I see that he threw up and it his throw up is what looks like either a piece of spagetti or a worm. There is a 50-50 chance he has eaten spagetti in the last 24 hours. Anyway it is about 4 inches long!!! It is skinny and a light brown color. I dont see a head or any features that makes it look like a worm, meaning that it is smooth. Does anyone know what this might be???

Intestinal worms don't have a visible head....roundworms look like spaghetti. My guesses would be roundworm, string, or spaghetti. Roundworms are common in puppies. Has your puppy been dewormed? If it hasn't been, it should be. If it has been, it could still have worms. I would suggest taking either the thing he threw up or a fecal sample to the vet....they'll let you know if he's got roundworms and can give you the appropriate dewormer. Many vets will look at what he threw up and tell you what it is for free...and the dewormer for roundworms is VERY inexpensive...typically under $5. If you don't want to talk to the vet, you can buy dewormer for this kind of worm at pet stores (but you will pay more than you would at the vet cause you'll have to buy the whole bottle instead of a single dose). You'll want to buy dewormer that specifies it's for dogs and safe for puppies. Most OTC dewormers take care of roundworms, but look for that on the label. The label should tell you how much to give.

It sounds like a worm... puppies can get these very easy... As a breeder, we worm puppies every two weeks until they go to their new homes (starting at 4 wks). Being that your pup threw up the worm.. Go to the vet and have this checked out, this could be a serious infestation..

Sounds like a tape worm. As gross as it sounds, you need to save the "specimen" in a jar or cup and take it and the puppy to the vet. Worming is easy, and not too expensive. But if your puppy is so infested that he's throwing them up, he may need to see a vet.
