Ask one of the guards, "Which door would the other guard say is the door to freedom?"

The answer will be the door that is the door to death.

Why?

The truth telling guard will answer with the death door, because the other guard is the liar, and the truth guard knows the liar would say the death door is the freedom door.

The liar will answer with the death door, because he knows the truth guard will answer with the freedom door, and so will lie to you, and point at the death door.

This is the Stephan Hradek riddle and there are tons of versions of this - some you get to ask both guards a question and some you know which guard is the liar and it is supposed to say something about the guards only being able to answer yes or no in some of them so that is why i am confused with this one in particular...seems that no matter what the question - as you have phrased the riddle - the guard could be lying and you wouldn't know - if I asked - are you a liar - he could be lying and since there is no other question to ask - I would never know so I think u are missing a piece to this ~ :o)

Will the other guard tell me this door leads to freedom. if the guard answers yes, then that is indeed the freedom door, and you go through. If the guard answers no, then the door leads to death, and you go through the other door.

I know that the right answer is something among these three:
"f I were to ask you if the left door leads to freedom, would you say yes? If the person asked is a truth teller, he will answer yes if the ldoor leads to freedom, and no otherwise. But so will the liar. So, either way, go to the door in the direction that gets the yes - and not the no.
or
If I were to ask the other guard if this door led to freedom, would he say yes? while pointing either of the 2 doors
or
What will the other guard say is the door to freedom?

If you get two questions - one to each guard which is the right way for this riddle to go - the answer is:
Is the liar in front of the door to freedom?

If the liar is he will say no
If the truthful man is he will say no
If the liar is in front of death he will say yes.
And if the truthful one is front of death then he will say yes.

So - you would take the door if mnan saying no and reject door of man saying yes.

Ask the date or time (assuming you know what it is) and if the guard answers correctly he is telling the truth and that is the door to freedom...if he tells you the wrong date or time, then you will know he's lying and that is the door to death

Ask: What would the other gaurd say is the door to freedom, then go to the opposite of what he says.

Okay. So I'm not the first to get it right. But I'm the cutest, right?
