Oooh, a proposal question!! *jumps up and down and claps her hands*
Step 1: Figure out how you think she'd like to be proposed to. For example - is she a really private, quiet person? If she is, then don't do it in public. If she HATES surprises, then have a setup to the proposal that makes it pretty obvious that a proposal is about to happen. You see where I'm going with this?
Step 2 - Whatever you do, do it CREATIVELY. If she loves movies, call your local movie theatre and talk to the owner. Sometimes, for these kinds of things, they're willing to put an extra ad in the previews that will say "(Girl's name), will you marry me?" Another idea is to set up a treasure hunt that ends up with the ring.
A couple more ideas...
- My ex-husband painted, and his proposal to me was a painting he'd done of a man slipping a ring onto a woman's finger with the words "Will you marry me?" written on it.
- If you think she'll get a laugh out of it, put the ring box in another box and wrap it. Put THAT box into another larger box and wrap it. Keep going until you've got a massive wrapped box. Tell her you've got a present for her, and then you can both laugh as she keeps having to unwrap the boxes.
- If she's the really outgoing type and has a lot of friends at work, this may go over well... Deliver a dozen (or two) roses to her office, as well as the ring box. You'll probably want to put the ring box into another, different size box, so what it is isn't easily recognizable. I'd probably write "OPEN ME NOW" on the box as well. (You also want to put a note that says "Will you marry me? Love, ___" into it.) Duck out for a few minutes to give your girlfriend time to pick up the stuff from the front desk. When you see that she's gone back to her desk, then come back in and tell the receptionist to call her and say "The delivery man's still downstairs."

The only criteria for age is that both are old enough to know the difference between "lust" "puppy love" and "true love". At times it is hard to tell. Mature people can tell the difference.
A woman wants a romantic proposal. You know, the man on bended knee and all that stuff. A romantic restaurant, candle light dinner, music, a walk in the park around dusk. It doesn't seem quite as romantic to a woman if you both "sort of talk" about it and assume you will get married. A woman wants an official proposal she can describe to her friends, and later to your children. Please find some special place that will give her a wonderful memory.

It is VERY romantic if you proposed at the place you guys met. Make it as special as possible because you want it to be memorable. There is no certain age when you can or cannot fall in love. If you guys are still teenagers, I suggest not to because problems can come in the future.

Be romantic, original and do it with her best interests in mind. The knee thing is nice, but not big enough. And no "age" shouldn't be a criteria, unless you aren't legally an adult. Surprise her!

Be original and romantic. Take her out somewhere on the beach or something... and be very romantic. Then, lean out to her ear and whisper...will you marry me? she'll think its really cute and sexy.. best of luck!!
