If all the arabs have to do is go to Mexico, learn some spanish,
and then pretend to be on their way to pick tomatoes, then it's time to finish the border fence, I believe. This is the 21st century, and we definitely live in a changed world, one in which there's all kinds of crazy stupid and violent people with lots of ambition, and no respect for either our country, or our laws, and while things like open borders have helped people economically, there's the question of how much 'help' we can still afford to be giving out,
and whether they really need that help, or if we're just getting played for stupid, here. Illegal immigration's a Big Problem,
and there are no snap answers. But, enforcing the borders sure does sound like a great first step..

That is exactly what many of us have been saying all along. There are more than just "poor people trying to feed their families" coming across that border. There are murderers, pedohpiles, rapists and TERRORISTS. Any intelligent person who wants to get into the USA undetected would surely go that route. Terrorists are not stupid, they know where the weak link is located and they are already here, just waiting for the signal to attack and the USA is a sitting duck. Our government better get their stuff together and wise up. That border not only needs to be closed it needs armed military in place with orders to shoot anyone evading checkpoints. Our enforcement officials need to get serious and strict with undocumented people and start checking Eastern immigrants closely. So what if it is considered 'racial profiling', in this day and time and considering what a terrorist can do to our country, our people 'racial profiling' in this case is the lesser of two evils. They brought that on themselves when they attacked the WTC.

I'm not surprised at that report whatsoever.

Yeah, I read that one. That one says it 'may be' a problem, and for confirmation, testimony at a House hearing points out it IS a problem:

"It is undeniable that terrorists have entered the United States by crossing our land borders illegally. The empirical evidence of terrorist entry is significant. Several cases are now publicly known. For example, on January 15, 2004, Mahmoud Kourani was indicted in Dearborn, Michigan, for conspiring to provide material support to a terrorist organization (Hezbollah). He had entered the United States by bribing a Mexican official to provide him a visa to enter Mexico, and then paying a coyote to smuggle him across the border into the United States. Kourani came to the attention of the INS while living with other illegal aliens in Dearborn and was initially imprisoned on immigration charges. It was later learned that he had trained with Hezbollah in Iran and Lebanon and was raising money for Hezbollah in the United States.

Another example that has been made public is that of Al Qaeda terrorist Farida Ahmed. On July 19, 2004, Ahmed was arrested in McAllen, Texas after crossing into the United States three days earlier. She had waded across the Rio Grande, and was bound for New York City. Terrorists know all about our porous southern border, and these cases demonstrate how effectively they have exploited it. And since 9/11 we have increased our security at ports of entry, which makes illegal border crossing an even more attractive means of entry. Moreover, we know that Hezbollah and Hamas maintain an active presence in the tri-border region of Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay."

It doesn't scare me to death. In fact, it doesn't really incite any "fear" in me. But that has been my personal concern with the whole guarding of the borders thing. That is MY reason for wanting to protect the border. I live in Texas, and I do believe that the illegals who come over should seek legal status. But, neverminding even THAT can of worms, I have, since 9/11, felt that the Texas/Mexico border might be a good place for terrorists to enter the U.S... considering how many Mexican citizens manage to get through.
I'm too busy to give any time to fear, but the concern is what solidifies my stance on beefing up the guarding of the border.

I have only a renewed resolve to defend My nation at all cost. There will be a day, when America can no longer ignore the threat, for the threat will become reality once more. America needs a leader whoi is PROACTIVE, not a lame duck who is determined to sit on his imagined "throne" and act like everything is alright with this embattled nation. America is facing enemies on many fronts, our military needs all the assistance they can get to continue to do the work they have been ordered to do. Americans need to take up the flag of freedom and confront the enemy at home with a vengeance! Lets show the world, why America should NOT be trifled with, especially in our own back yard.

If we get hit with a large attack by terrorists streaming into the country from Mexico since 9-11, I wouldn't be able to argue with Bush as the commander-in-chief being personally liable for gross negligence. Even though Congress could try to order the border secured by feds, Bush is the only one who can really secure it by ordering the military to do so. As an obvious forseeable risk since 9-11, a mass homicide due to the failure to even attempt to secure our borders (the FBI would never admit that though) would be very bad. Bush's sensitivity to Mexico is political, whereas his responsibility to all Americans is now military. Why do we need to sustain another attack to learn?
We should give them amnesty, citizenship, welfare dollars, health care, education, and a place setting at the White House dinner table. Maybe then they will stop bombing our national landmarks,
We should surround our national landmarks and send 1,000,000 marchers across the DC border to march on the capital to demand that our miliatry do what it's meant to do -- protect our borders. We need a show of solidarity. Those folks in Washington don't give a tinker's damn what we think! On the other hand, it only took 19 to do the damage they did on 9/11.

You many now proceed to FULL PANIC MODE.

I agree with Ruby ... this may be the most widely reported set of incidents, but I have seen reports for a couple of years now about the same thing ... that is exactly why we have to put a stop to illegal immigration ... we don't know who the people are who are entering our country, we don't know where they're from, and we don't know what they want here ... I wish the pro illegals would understand that it really isn't about "poor people wanting to better themselves" .... it's among very many other things about an unknown and unknowable number of unscreened people who may or may not want to do us harm ...

We as a nation are gonna end up tearing each other apart with "world War Three" that's going on right now before any terrorist attacks.

technically, because after the 1st time they are already 0.5 lifeless, the 2nd 0.5 would fairly be 1 / 4 of the preliminary aliveness. so as that they'd be 3 quarters lifeless after the 2nd time being scared 0.5 to dying. that is an exponential decay ingredient.
