My boss really wants me to date one of her sons. She says she really likes me and we would be cute together. Problem is her son is really hot and I'm more of the girl next door. I would love to get to know him but I'm afraid he's more into hot girls, whereas i consider myself good looking but not in that "high-maintance, super-hot way". The second time she mentioned it i laughed and said it was really up to her son if we went out, not her, and she said, "oh, he'll like you"

what do you guys think?

***I'm not afraid of problems arising by dating the boss's son bc this is a partime job, (i'm a student) so it's not like i'm trying to climb the career ladder or anything.***

As others have said, stop doubting yourself. Repeat after me: "NOBODY is too good for me". Tell yourself that every day.

I'm an average looking guy, but I don't let that stop me from asking out women who look like supermodels. They key is that I go into every potential relationship thinking about what I have to offer. Women like me because I make them laugh. Also, I'm a nice guy with a stable career, which is important at my age (33), because women my age are looking for marrying material.

Actually, focusing on your positives is good in other areas of life besides dating, too. I make a list in advance of what I have to offer before going into job interviews, also. I used to be very shy when I was in school, but I've learned that a positive attitude can overcome a lot of life's difficulties and help you get what you want in life.

Tell your boss that you would go out with her son, if HE asked.
If he is r-e-a-l-l-y interested & this isn't just Mom's doing, then he'll ask.

And don't worry about not being "super hot". There are few in the world that are. Ever stop to think the 'girl-next-door' is what appeals to him?

i'd say just don't respond to her comments. if you and her son want to see eachother outside it will happen without her. and you think he's superhot....why not. and not everyone is completely into looks. you could have the man of ur dreams waiting for you. you're already telling urself he's better than you in a way. your like me. not good. if anyone else was to tell us that we'd prolly kick the crap out of em. just let the chips fall where they may and it will all work out. and be nicer to urself :o )

Girl, stop doubting yourself ! I am sure you look fine. I don't see any harm in dating the bosses son. Wouldn't it be great to one day have a mother in law that loves you, especially b/c she picked you herself? Nobody needs to look or act like a paris hilton to be liked, just be yourself!

Give it a try. Maybe he likes girls that are down to earth, As the old saying goes,"try it you'll like it".

What I would do, is hang out with him, get to know him, then if you think he likes you, and you like him, ask him out.

If you don't like him like that, then don't date him, just be friends.

If you don't think he likes you, give it a shot. Ask him out, and if he says no, no hard feelings.
