i know exactly how you feel! im a teen, too and Im starting school on monday. no matter how much i try, i don't get to bed until 11:30 or 12. but I found something that works, though. Tell your parents to literally punish you if you don't get in bed on time. My time is in bed by 10:30. I'm still tired when I wake up ay 6:25, but its better then going to bed at 12.

Also, try to avoid any foods with caffeine in them after about 4:30 or 5:00. This way your body can adjust more easily to going to bed early. And in the morning, even if you don't have alot of time, drink some OJ and eat a little bit of something. If you don't have enough time then take it on the bus or eat it in homeroom.

Going to bed is different for each person, but If you finish your homework early and try to get to bed, then you will.

Good luck!

They've done studies and the studies show that most teens are sleep deprived. This really isn't good because it doesn't give your body the time it needs to shut down and rest and rejuvenate itself. If you do this for years on end eventually your body WILL react and slowly break down and you will get other diseases down the road of life.

Teens should really get about 10 hours of sleep a night...wow right? Who gets that?!?!? But you should really make it a habit to get into bed at 10 pm at least...even if you watch an hour of tv in your room (which you shouldn't...no tvs should ever been in a bedroom...bedrooms should be for sleep only!) but at least you're in bed and by 11 lights out for sure.

Even that is too late as most kids are up at 6:30 or 7 am to catch buses etc....that is not nearly enough sleep so make sure you catch up on the weekends. Don't nap after school it's too late to do so and then you'll never get to sleep at night...if you are that tired that you want to nap eat an early dinner, get all your homework done etc. then get into bed at 8 or 8:30 that night and sleep through till morning...you will be refreshed and have a great couple of days afterwards!

Of course, everyone is different but I would suggest teens 12-16 being in bed by 10-10:30pm. And kids a little older no later than 11pm.

a teen should be in bed by 10:30 pm.

since I had to get up super early when I was a teen, I went to bed at 9pm.

If you have no major problems with your sleep pattern, don't worry about it.

I am a father of teenagers.

My humble opinion (and I'm going to get hammered by my peers, I'm sure) is you should sleep enough to be rested to meet your responsibilities, and your goals.

If you want to take a nap when you get home from school, get up at 6:00 pm, stay up until 2:00 am, take another nap and go to school... fine. If now, in the summer, you have a job that keeps you out until 11:00pm and you want to stay up until 4:00 doing your thing... fine.

I just expect you to do your little assignments I give (like cut the grass, or clean the bathroom) and not keep me up all night (I sleep from about 10pm to 4am).

At some point, a teenager needs to take responsibility for him or herself. Sleep is one I think most teenagers can handle themselves. ...sounds like you need less sleep than most teens I'm aware of.

teens going to school should go to bed by 9 to 9:30. by 10 if cramming for test. weekends should be no later than midnight. what works for me is by making it a habit to go to bed a the same time everynight during the weekday.
