For those who don't know the man, Pat Robertson is a very wealthy TV preacher who should be an embarrassment to all decent US citizens and sane Christians everywhere.
"You know, I don't know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it. It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war ... We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability. We don't need another $200 billion war to get rid of one, you know, strong-arm dictator. It's a whole lot easier to have some of the covert operatives do the job and then get it over with."
"Wait a minute, I didn't say 'assassination.' I said our special forces should 'take him out,' and 'take him out' can be a number of things, including kidnapping." – clarifying his call to assassinate Hugo Chavez

Apologies for writing that he “should be an embarrassment”. It seems from the replies so far that he really IS an embarrassment to most of the good people here.
The reason for the “should” is that there are people who keep giving him money and are therefore not embarrassed to be associated with him. This is despite his massive personal wealth, the diamond mine scandal, his “charity” taking FEMA Katrina funds some of which were diverted to fund his broadcasting operation etc.

Not me, I hope. My calendar is just too full.
But if he wants to make an assassination appointment for, say, the twelfth of Never, I'll pencil it in.

I do'nt know really because I am not nor will I ever want to be him... probably Steven Hillenburg (the guy who made Spongebob Squarepants). I've heard that he's been stirring up controversy about Spongebob's being gay...or was that some other loonatic TV preacher?
He IS an embarrassment to the decent citizens of the USA, he IS an Insult to Christianity and he IS a danger to himself and others.

He is an embarrassment to Christians.
He is supposedly a christian.
He has made a few blunders.
I think that this is a warning not to follow these kind of men. That they do no represent God.
Jerry Falwell included.
Jim Baker----all of them.
There is a serious problem with a preacher that millions of people watch doing something like that.
He does not represent God.

Hard to know who he wants killed this week, but I'm sure it is someone and he will get that opinion out over the 700 club then CNN soon enough. I agree, any good Christian should be ashamed to have a man like that representing them. He is an old man who wants to be a radical. He is a waste of TV space. I'm suprised the Christian community has allowed him to remain important.sc

I do not watch Pat R. I have a good tv minister I watch that is not a shame to the christian sect. He is Jack Van Impe and knoa the Bible frontwards and backwards. He has it memorized. Jack will tell of events going on in toadays society around the world and llink them to prophesy in the Bible/ He is really very good and helps many achristian with insight and the love of the Lord. So forget Pat R. and move on to someone wh knows what he s talking about and he never says he wants someone assinated.

I just am reminded of being in middle school a long, long time ago and liking New Kids on the Block (don't judge, it was a LONG time ago) and my dad made me watch one of Pat Robertson's shows and he did a whole segment about how NKOTB were satanic. No lie. Joey Joe, Jordan, Donnie, Jonathan, and Danny were all in league with SATAN. (personally, I'm thinking he was giving them too much credit, but whatever)...The man is off his rocker.

Yeah, he's a nut! I don't know if he was ever sane, but he doesn't seem to be now. I think he gives a bad name to the good Christians who are out there doing good every day.

Thank you for the lengthy post. I am a devote Christian and would like to share my thoughts.
Please don't ever let a mere, sinful person represent Christ or the work Christ did for humanity. It isn't fair.
PR has issues. He has made false predictions and used the name of God to advance his own personal agenda.

GOD ALMIGHTY told one of HIS People, that if Somebody would'a took-out HITLER (killed), befor HE got into all of that Power, he wouldn't have been so hard to Stop.
I Personally take this to mean that there might not of been a World War 2.
One of his Generals Tried it too. Failed. So sad.
