There is no proof that Jesus actually lived. Everything that was written about him was written starting 50+ years after his death. It is an article of faith although I am sure I will get many thumbs down for speaking the truth. Do a search on the question and read both sides of the argument. He could have lived, but it cannot be proven one way or the other.

Yes, Jesus was a real person. The reason Jesus is not mentioned in the Dea Sea Scrolls is because they were written between 50 and 200 BC. Since the Dead Sea Scrolls are not books of prophecy, they aren't going to say anything about someone who hadn't been born yet.

Where Jesus is mentioned in the Dead Sea scrolls does not determine whether he was a real person or not. As to his being a real person that could be up for debate - but I do believe that there was someone at least he was based on.

Dead Sea Scrolls only contains Old Testaments, except Esther. Jesus born in the New Testament Era, so Jesus can't be mentioned in Dead Sea scrolls. But revelation of Jesus and the promises of the Jesus the Savior exist in the Dead Sea scrolls.

Jesus was as real as you are and is mentioned in many places in history but not in the dead sea scrolls per se. He is mentioned but not in the form of Jesus. All throught he Old Testament He is mentioned as the Messiah, the great I Am, The Word, etc. So you are wrong on both counts. If you want some truth, check out the link below.

Yes, Jesus was a real person.
You are correct, he is not mentioned in the Dead Sea scrolls. However, the DSS contain only the Old Testament and were written 300+ years before Jesus lived. So logically he could not be mentioned in them directly.
However there is much prophecy in the OT about Jesus and that of course is there in the DSS.
The fact that Jesus lived is not really in dispute among historians there are many, many books and writings of that time that mention him as a real person. So among historians there is no dispute that he existed, rather the debate rages over he is who HE said that he is. That being God.

I am not mentioned in the Dead Sea Scrolls either---
Neither JESUS no I were born yet.
The scrolls are older OLD TESTAMENT stuff that pre dates the birth of JESUS.
Jesus is mentioned in The Official History of The City of Rome.
(not a book - the city records)
Jesus was written about by the Ancient Jewish Scribe (writer) Josephus. Not very complimentary stuff - but proof the Jesus did exist.

The dead sea scrolls are only pieces of the entire manuscript that exists. To rely solely on them is to rely on only pieces of the information that exists. Further, why were they written? They don't mention the U.S., for an exaggeration, but it exists. They don't mention Rome, either, but that existed when the Scrolls were written. You can't depend just on them to decide whether or not Jesus existed as a real person.
