Traditionally it is the groom who pays for the honeymoon.
As for resorts in Punta Cana, Mexico: Although I have never been there I know there are a couple of chains and I have stayed in some of their other locations.

The bride and groom and here is one you should go to Majestic Colonial Punta Cana or Paradisus Palma Real or here Sunscape the Beach Punta Cana I hope these places help bes of luck

Traditionally the groom (but in eventuality both the bride and the groom since after they are married they are both spending the money). In my case, my husband and I paid for our wedding and our honeymoon together.

PS:I've been to Mexico about 5-10 times but only to Rocky Point or Cancun!
