Speaking in Tongues is a language of the soul, either speaking to God, or God speaking through a person, it is one of the spiritual gifts... and another spiritual gift is a interpreter of tongues... the interpreter speaks in the language that you understand, from the one speaking in tongues.
In some cases yes it can cast out demons, that would depend on the degree of it, it may take hours.

Well, first, look at scripture, not man's opinion.
Jude 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst (dared) not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
We are not to be the ones directly rebuking them in the first place. That's the Lord's place and we should phrase it as such. "The LORD rebuke thee."
Next:
Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
It doesn't say that they "shall they cast out devils BECAUSE they shall speak with new tongues" it just says they will do both.
1Cor. 14:2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God:
1Cor. 14:4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
Tongues are our privileged way to express ourselves to GOD (not demons) and in return to be blessed ourselves. It doesn't do those around us (human or otherwise) any good. That's why Paul urges us to seek prophesy - that one is good for the whole body! That's why if tongues are used in a public context it must be interpreted - so all may be edified.
In short - "don't cast your pearls before swine", eh?

Good question. The disciples drove out demons and so did Jesus.
Did you know, after Jesus compeleted his work at Calvary, sin and evil were defeated? We have full victory over sin and demons, according to the Bible.
There is a lot of non-sense in the church's today about this and all one needs to do is fully trust in Jesus and the Holy Spirit for healing.

1 Corinthians 16: 8 states that: "whether there are gifts of prophesying, they will be done away with; whether there are tongues, they will cease..." Here, Paul basically states that after his day, speaking in tongues, prophesying, and other things such as healing will stop, or cease (read verses 9 and 10, also). Thus, God did NOT allow humans to do such things anymore, from the 2nd century A.D. onward. Therefore, if people claim that they can heal or speak in tongues, then they're faking it or doing it by means of the Devil.

That is a Deep Subject with a Lot of In's and Out's.
Yeah, when you really don't know What to say, Speak to them in Tongues.
The Interpretation is used alot in a Service to Edify
the Body of Christ.
You can Interpret for your own self too. Wouldn't think it woud have to be Interpreted to command the Devil's.

NO: only persons trained in the ministry of deliverance should cast out devils. However, any born again Christian, living right--having a spiritual intruder in his/her house, his/her temple or in a member of his/her family can claim the authority of the one who God gave such authority to. Usually, the Spirit of God will give the wisdom to do such. The first time God called me to cast demons, I did not know what I was doing, but the Spirit of God gave me discernment, wisdom, authority and empowerment.

if tongues is speaking to God not man, praising and magnifying God, then it is not directed at man or any demon but to God. How can tongues be used to cast out demons and if tongues have ceased and if they had not ceased, the bible does not command tongues to be used to cast out demons or is any example used in he bible. Tongues was a sign for unbelievers (unbelieving Jews) not for demons nor for today as we do not have unbelieving Jews for them to believe. If tongues is used and interpretation is needed, why speak in tongues as the one that speaks in tongues must interpret.

I have never heard of the need to speak in tongues to help cast out a demon.
I do not think that it would hurt.
I do not think that it would have to be interpreted.

"tongues" are actual languages. usually languages the speaker does not speak, possibly ancient languages-aramaic, hebrew, latin so yes, they could be interpreted. speaking in tongues, i believe, is not required to cast out demons.
