Are there any clubs in the United States? How big will he get? Is this a regestired breed?

This is a hybred dog of Border collie and Golden Retriever champions. The breed is fairly new and I would like to find out more info on it here in the U.S.A. Size, weight, standards and so on. If you know of its registery, that would be very helpful. There is a Brittish web site but no info for us Yanks!

Decker was the first to be registered as a Coltreiver and was a name made up from his parents - a collie father and golden retriever mother. When Decker sired two litters the name was registered as an affix at the Kennel Club and all his family are part collie and part golden retriever. Retrieve full story
Decker changed my life completely. I went to places I never thought I'd go and I met people I had never dreamt of meeting" RetrieveObedience successes - Dudley & Mandy have won three Novices recently. Beau & Wendy won a second Novice at Loughborough Show. Butty & Carol won their third A at Wirral Show. Duffy & Margaret have won three B's, congratulation to you all.
go to http://www.coltriever.org/ for more info and try out there links

A "hybrid" dog is a polite way of saying a mongrel, or mutt.
It's difficult to find information on a mixed breed dog because there aren't any breed registries for most of them. Where there are no registries, there are no clubs. You may be able to find other folks who have the same type of dog that you do, and they might be able to help you learn more about the kind of dog you have, but you'll have to do some serious searching.
I hate to say this, but your dog was probably bred by an unscrupulous breeder who mated two different dogs and was out to make a quick buck by making puppies and marketing them as something more than they really are. Having said that, I realize that this puppy is your dog, who you will raise and love, and I wish you both many happy years together.

I haven't heard of this breed (is it a collie, golden retriever mix?) before, but if it is a registered breed you will be able to find out a lot on www.akc.org. Also ask the breeder or shelter where you got the dog for more information, they should be able to help. A vet will help too. Good luck and have fun!

This is a MUTT!!!!!!!! It is not a breed and cannot be registered. Since Border Collies still come in differing sizes, good luck predicting the size.
Sure you can compete in performance events through the mixed breed clubs, but the AKC or any other registry does not register this mutt. It is like a Puggle,Yorkapoo,Cockapoo....all these crosses that are just mixes.

I haven't heard of that name being an AKC name, I'm guessing that this is a collie/retriever cross? If so , both are large dogs. I would say standard height of any retriever. The weight could range anywhere from 60lb up to 100lbs, this depending upon how big the parents are & which dog he ends up taking after. I would say, buy an undercoat rake, your gonna need it !!

Do you know what breed of dog you have? I think you mean Golden retriever, not coltriever. Golden retrievers are a very popular breed.
I see it is a mix of golden retrievers and border colies. It is a mixed breed dog and will not be recognized by the AKC.
