Of course, a mother -in -law could be a mother to her daughter in-law. The rivalry between the two is to be considered as an old myth. Actually, when a girl gets married, she is brought into the man;s family as a new member. She automatically becomes the daughter. There could be differences in opinions and and all that little confusions, but when they are open and find a common place, they could be closer that biological daughter and mother.

If you meant "daughter-in-law" I would say yes, to a certain extent. The biological mother would always come first unless she is an abusive person. If the girl's mother is deceased, and you are a loving mother-in-law and treat her like a daughter, then all should be fine.
I hope you didn't really mean "laughter-in-law" - if so, why?

Laughter in law. Wow that's a really good play on words. Did you mean it? hahahahaa.
A mother in law can and often does become a great mother to her daughter in law. Depends on the personalities of the two parties and the son too.
Best wishes to you and your daughter in law.'

Absolutely! Anyone can be a "mother" to someone through genuine care and love. Topping the list is Mothers-in-law. Just treat her as you would treat your own daughter and she'll cherish you always.

Oh definitely. My mother in law is the best, I adore her beyond all ends. My mom and I are, well, okay together. But my mother in law respects my parenting, understands the needs I have and gives me support in everything I do.
I have asked her to adopt me, LOL, but we figure that would almost be incest since I married her son!

I consider my mother in law to be my mother since mine is not interested in having a relationship with me.
