How many licks does it take to get to the center of your tootsie pop?

Alot of that depends on the amount of pressure you have when you lick. Also some people cannot lick without also sucking and that really accelerates the whole process.

Rather than count it in "licks" I prefer to just count how long it takes for the gooey middle part to emerge (if you will).

For me it comes in about ten minutes -- sometimes sooner -- but I prefer to try to make it last longer so I enjoy it more.

Hope that helps.

AGAIN???
Well, by trial and error, it takes 176 if it's a small tootsie pop, 476 if you are my daughter who licks, licks and licks. She doesn't believe in bitting into the sucker (she's 6 and wants to enjoy every lick!).
Or if it is me, it takes 4. 3 licks and one big bite!
