You can request a Social Security Statement on-line at: https://s044a90.ssa.gov/apps6z/isss/main.html

You will receive a response by mail in 2-4 weeks. Your Social Security Statement will include:

A record of your earnings history and an estimate of how much you and your employer paid in Social Security taxes; and

Estimates of benefits you (and your family) may be eligible for now and in the future.

The SSA (website below) has an online knowledge base that can answer most of your questions, and also has online forms that will allow you to request a statement. They include a calculator so that you can predict what you will get at retirement age.

You can submit questions through their site too. It's very friendly and helpful!
