It's the Army alternative to fire engines......in UK anyway. If the fire service goes out on strike here, the Army comes in and takes over and their appliances are called Green Goddesses. Probably just bcz they're green.

I am not too sure,but isn't it an army 3-6 ton bedford truck,which is brought into use when there is a fire brigade strike and there are no up to date tenders to fight fires?Soldiers man them,with out of date fire fighting equipment on board-as i said,not too sure:/
