how old are you?
OK let me take a random guess: you're both 18. You get together say once a year? So a lot of years will pass before you've even clocked up six months together. By that time, both you and he will be people that neither of you, today, will recognise.
You, as you are, love him, as he is. But neither of those people will exist in five years. Will future you love future him? Vice versa? How can you tell? You've never even met future you, let alone future him.
If you're old and boring, like me, you might feel a little better at making that bet with time - people change more slowly past about 25.
