well it is a tuff old world out there, it is becoming increasingly expensive 2 raise a child. i think people should think long & hard b4 bringing a child into the world.. r u ready 2 take on the responsibility 4 another person besides urself?? a child is not like a puppy, that u can just take out in the country & drop off & hope someone will pick it up & care 4 it, (altho some do) this is a person that u will b responsible 4 the rest of ur life. not just til they r 18, it is 4ever. so if u have a career & feel that it is so very important, then u need 2 factor that in also do u want a day care provider raising ur child. i am not saying that it is better not 2 have any, children can b a blessing 2 ur life, but there r so any temptations, it is hard 2 raise them. all i am saying is just be sure u r ready because they will depend on u & that decision. best wishes.

This answer is intended to be honest. I am not making fun of you, or anything like that:
My answer: Yes, I think it is better not to have children because, I don’t want to be a stupid lemming.
Honestly, about %90 of people have children because:
1.They are too lazy not to use condoms.
2.Because they gave in to peer pressure.
Sure, they all say they wanted their children. But, you know that is not the case. Just get any of them drunk, so they are in ‘honestly mode’ and ask them the question. That is when you find out their true feelings. They will then tell you that they regret having children.
The remaining %10 are the ones that go though life wanting to be parents from about 12 years old. These are the ones that are the worst parents, and they give birth to the worlds most hardened criminals.
I really don’t think anyone truly wants children. They just give in to animal instincts, or make serious life-changing mistakes.
Ask yourself this: “Is it better not to drop a hammer on your foot?”. You will then have your answer to “Is it better not to have children?”

I think people that do not like kids or want kids should not have them. To bring a precious life into an unwanted home for any reason is wrong. Economically raising a child is expensive, so many young girls today are raising children on welfare and the poor child has a stigma all his/her life that they are of lower class, it is unfair to that child to be made to feel that way when they did not ask to be born by unwed mothers or uneducated parents. If people are into drugs and/or alcohol abuse I think they should be sterilized, a child born under these conditions are the reason our penal system is over run today. Mentally challenged people should also be sterilized, I'm not talking about JUST mentally and physically handicapped, I also refer to the sociopaths and the mentally disturbed.
A child needs love, attention and a stable home life. Lord knows life is hard enough out there for the average person.

Children are great but a very big responsibility. I couldn't have children yet because i couldn't do the best by them at this stage in my life. If you think you are ready then go for it. Just remember that this affects the rest of your life.

I don't want children myself but other people do, which is great for them and I hope they are happy.
I don't want children because I'm not very good at dealing with children, I never know what to say to them, I find children irritating, I like my body the way it is I don't want anything ripped or stretched out of shape, I like having money, I like my career, I like having time for myself, I like being able to put my own needs first in life, I like to be spontaneous, I like being free, my fiance doesn't want to have children.
The fact that I have a genetic abnormality that might be expressed in any children I have as severe disabilities is by the by for me. But another big factor because I don't think it would be fair to knowingly bring a severely disabled person into the world.
But for all those heroic people who are brave enough to become parents, I applaud you.

I don't think it is for me. I think the point in life is to have children. If you think of any animal the point is to perpetuate yourself - in away continue living - leave your legacy etc...
But children are a hudge sacrifice. Your life is no longer your own. Without children your life is your own to do with as you like. Travel, relationships, choices. Not to mention the money! Supporting a child for 18 years + college etc... its a very large burden.
To add insult to injury - children are almost never grateful. I remember when I was growing up I thought my parents goal was to ruin my life. Children want to rebel - oppose the plans their parents have for them etc... They are their own people and your sacrifice for them does not mean they will do the same for you.
There's alot of reasons not to have children.

You give them all of you heart, love, time, stay awake all night watching over them when they have the sniffles, take them everywhere, never miss a school event, cheerleader practice, track meet, pack lunches, watch them on and off the school bus, do without so that they will have a better life, Love them Unconditionally. They grow up to be a doctor and one a teacher and they forget your phone number. All your life they are your life and one day you are alone. That is the best reason I know.

A child is a life and a person. He needs to be loved and taken care of and nurtured.
If you can't take up the responsibility to do it for them, then it is a lack of responsiblity and you will bring problems for them.
So, why should you have children if you are not ready for them?

i believe that its better to adopt cos lets face it people the world's not a very nice place to live in we have got psychos killing innocent people in the name of God, people starving in the world etc and these poor lil ones in care are already here on this earth so why bring in anymore when there are some already here and have not really got a choice they are stuck here.
As a female myself, i understand that some women out there would feel they miss out on the whole mother-child bond when adopting/fostering but i for sure am willing to sacrifice this for the poor kids in care.

If you dont have children this means, that if your relationship with your partner messes up, the kids dont have to suffer (because trust me they will suffer more in the long run than you ever will for losing your loved one), it means that you have less chance of screwing your kids lives up (thanks dad !) and if your not willing to act like a kid you wont have a chance of rasing one properly, and to think my parents would not even play sports or games with me, and what a fight it was to get them to even do some painting with me, oh that used to suck sooooo much....And another thing what is the point of having a million and one board games bought for you, if your parents never bothered to play them with you??!!??
