Can I comment on this as an unmarried childless woman?? I think (I suppose) that making all those life-decisions involves a certain amount of sacrifice. I didn't choose to remain single, simply I've never been asked by anyone to marry them or bear their children, it's just never happened and maybe never will. So for now I'm continuing to do as much as possible to satisfy my own desires and curiosity because if I suddenly found that person to give it all up for, then I wouldn't regret giving up the life I have now (I'm a TEFL teacher in Europe, nothing spectacular, but might sound exotic to 'home birds'). I also realised a long time ago that whatever the outcome I try to look for a positive in every experience and regret nothing, because regret harbours self-pity and bitterness (I'm also quite religious but not to extremes, I suppose this influences my philosophy to a certain extent). I have to say, to all of you who are married or are parents, I really admire you all for your sense of duty and responsibility, which perhaps I lack and is perhaps why I have never been proposed to!! I don't mind not being married and not having children so much, I certainly don't regret it because I realise from my friends and siblings what bloody hard work it is bringing up kids. That's the best part of what I do I guess, I get the kids for a lesson and get to give them back to their adoring parents afterwards. Keep up the good work all of you, coz if you didn't have kids people like me wouldn't have jobs :))))

If I hadn't married and had children I would have stayed in the Marine Corps. I don't regret getting married or having children. I think it was Gods plan for me.

No regrets,
I have travelled with and without my family. I spent two years in Zambia as a volunteer with 3 children under 8.

i only got married last year. i am 32 now and had my daughter last year too. I did all that I wanted to , travelled, partied. I am about to embark on the self employed route. If there is anything I would have done differently its that i would have got onto the housing market earlier and started working towards being self-employed earlier, cos now I have NO free time!!.

just carried on having mad nights out and girlie holidays!!!
Don't get me wrong I wouldn't change a thing but I often wish I could go back for one night to bein single and have a wild night like we used to, my friend often says the same. I do love my family though and wouldn't give that up for anything. Everyone as to grow up.

No regrets, I love my family and life, but I wish I'd travelled more - something my husband and I now plan for when our daughter has grown up and left home
