Does that mean he's trying to mate? I hope he doesn't try on me.

My parakeet, Chico, does it all the time. He's a year and a half old. He has never once tried to regurgitate or mate with me, so my bets are he's either looking for attention, or he just likes to dance. (He also does a left to right shuffle with the head bob.) ;-)

It is just happy. Parakeets try to mate in the spring, not the fall.

If it is a new and very young bird they will head bob t beg for food.

he's just playing, my bird always used to do it. that dosnt mean hes sick or anything, dont think that just let him do it and if he keeps going on and on then get it another bird to mate with. who nos maybe hes trying to sing

he might be trying to regurgitate food my kakariki does quite often to my finger bobs his head really fast and sumtimes brings up food
