Here are some great people to research, check out a biography on, or read about on the web:
Clara Barton- known as the "angel of the battlefield" and founder of the Red Cross- just a farm girl from Massachusetts
Florence Nightingale- Very very smart woman, a pioneer in nursing and MATH- pretty cool.
Eleanor Roosevelt- Social justice, one of the most admired women of the 20th century. She also had an unhappy childhood, and betrayal in her marriage.
Andrew Carnegie- became a multi-miilionaire from nothing
That should get you started!
Also, if you really focus on a few people, you might gain enough knowledge to help you in history reports, speeches, essays, etc. Motivation is always needed, no matter what you do or what age you are!

Success is best achieved by 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration!
The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step!
Don't focus on what obstacles are in front of you, but on the things you've already accomplished.
Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're probably right!
If at first you don't succeed, try another approach.
Just asking for help shows me you're motivated!!!! You'll do well. Good luck. Hope I've helped a little.

This is the best piece of inspirational writing I know ...
Desiderata
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

"You cannot plough a field by turning it over in your mind."
Also, a poem to inspire you:
If you think you are beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you won't
If you like to win, but son't think you can,
It' almost a cinch that you won't.
If you think you'll loose, you've lost,
For out in the world you'll find
Success begins with a person's will
It's all in the state of mind.
For many a game is lost
Before even a step is run
And many a coward fails
Before his work is begun.
Think big and your deed will grow
Think small and you will fall behind
Think that you can and you will
It's all in the state of mind
If you think that you are out-classed, you are
You've got to think high to rise
You've got to be sure of yourself
Before you can win the prize
Life's battles don't always go
To the strongest or fastest man
But sooner or later the person who wins
Is the person who thinks he can
(by Walter Wintle)
Good luck with it all, get you're head down and do the work or you won't get anywhere!

My daughter sends me this:
When your asking for apples
And Life hands you lemons, make lemonade...
If your on your way out and it starts to rain, at least
you won't have to water the plants anymore...
It's a matter of seeing things in perspective
The benefits may not be immediate nor obvious.,
but you know these for sure;
There will be problems,
There will be struggles..
Have faith, enjoy life, take it easy
If today your picking up the grapes, tomorrow you will be drinking the wine.

My Favor... For those of you who have not heard of Napoleon Hill he was one of the early teachers of the power of the mind.
Napoleon Hills legendary book "Think And Grow Rich" was read by and motivated millions of people.
His quote. "Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, can archive.
Best!!!
