I am going to China in two weeks, I like to take seven bottles of wine with me. Am i allowed to do so? do I have to pay tax for the wine when i take them into china? Thank you.

Now that security on flights has been tightened so that you can't take any liquids--let alone alcohol--in your carry-on bags. If you put them in your checked luggage, the bottles could break. If it's really expensive wine, I wouldn't risk leaks or disposal because of security reasons. Seven is a lot to take into China. I'm sure there is a tax. But the question is how you will take them.

one liter is free duty after you will have to pay taxes on 6 bottle maybe 15 bucks , from experience i fly back and forth to the states and europe and always bring back 8 to 10 liters i never had to pay a dime customs officers here are very linient but will be nasty on currency violation. if you have any questions pls email me been here some time in the Guangzhou area

only 2 bottles are allowed to be taken with u as duty-free. you have to pay tax for the extra ones.

My experiences, China doesn't care, as long as you can pack them very good.......I mean VERY GOOD!...They don't care if you have a glass stamp on the package, the chances are, your bottle will break before you land on China...I am not kidding...I saw them gone... they carried the package at airport.
