I suppose anywhere along the south coast, or drive to Cornwall along the coast. We stayed in Broadstairs for a weekend last year, we're from the north and just fancied seeing Margate! We went to Chamonix last month, so ventured a bit further afield. Anywhere you feel relaxed is a holiday though, so it's as much a state of mind as it is about distance. Why not just spend a week wandering around London's fantastic museums and galleries? We spent a full day in the Natural History last year...

Enjoy whatever / wherever you go.

if you are interested in the US, Wisconsin is a good place to tour during the fall. Lots of turning forests up north, Plenty of fun things as well as peace and quiet. Fly into Chicago and go north. We'll set you up. Course you won't be able to wear your shoes on the airplane!
I suspect you have many beautiful areas on the islands as well. I was looking over some of the answers and it looks pretty inviting. My wife is traveling to London next week so she'll have some fun things to in Britain. Of course, she won't be able to wear her shoes on the plane either.
