What does the red, yellow and green light stand for in OS X?

There's no information at Mac Help or in the booklet about what they stand for. I know red stands for close out. But what about the yellow and green?

Red = close
Yellow = shrink
Green = expand

Try them out. You won't hurt anything and you will see what they do firsthand!

Yelow or green means it is in use
