Because this is not a face to face encounter, and it's a safe way to vent their amorphous anger at society or the government or whatever.

Don't worry about it! I would rather have someone be rude here than take a gun and visit an elementary school ground. But yes, they are rude and you should take the time to tell them that. Some just want to arouse people like you and maybe the best medicine for them would be to just not answer their questions at all and soon they will be wondering why being rude is so much fun anymore.

Some people just like to say things to be dumb. They really don't care one way or the other. Usually one can spot those people easily.I agree- there is a way to say something without being mean. However- I think a big problem is that people do not proof read what they send out. If people would check their grammar and the way what they are saying is worded - things may not come across as bad. USE SPELL CHECK AND PROOF READ PEOPLE.

I'm not sure but maybe you could answer my question:
Why do some people on here direct snotty questions to those that try to help them when they don't agree with their advice (even when the advice given is correct)?
Personally, I think you're just as rude as some of the people on here, including myself at times.
Most of our rudeness stems from frustration because people would rather yell at us for our correct and researched answers than accept it or ignore them. How would you feel if you give someone a correct thought-out answer, and then have them turn around and berate you for it?

My guess is this is a reflection of their true personality. Many of us have learned to show the world a polite face, because a venue like Yahoo Answers is so faceless they can be as rude, juvenile or obnoxious as they want with no consequences. It is a safe place to vent their anger and frustrations.

Good point, but some of the questions are also rude and deserve what they get. A public forum will always have ALL perspectives to it, you have to just see past the foolish ones.

The rude people likely live near nuclear power plants, toxic landfills or heavily conjested metro areas. They can't help it.
I think it is great to be nice. The mean people would never be able to say the same things face to face. Sad.

S o we must not to find out or point out their level of thinking , better reply or ignore , that much you should decide , that is why yahoo has started this kind service to fulfill the urge of less privileged people .

To help others should be the main reason to answer, most questions anyway. But I suppose there are those who may be immature and they don't understand what it is they are doing by being rude, and have never been taught otherwise !

As you travel through life you will find rudeness at every turn, along with kindness.Take the kindness as a blessing, and forgive the rudeness.People who are rude on purpose are simply trying to bring attention to themselves, and it doesn't matter to them whether it's negative or positive.
